EASY DOUGHNUT RECIPE!!
Thinking of some quick fix snack or breakfas t accompaniment? Here's something you can do
For my DOUGHNUTS RECIPE;
INGREDIENTS
✓3 Cups of self raising flour...you can also use all-purpose flour
✓two teaspoons of instant dry yeast
✓two tablespoons of sugar (you can add another if you love it more sugary)
✓three eggs
✓two tablespoons of butter (you can use blueband or the vanilla flavored prestige margarine)
✓a cup of milk
✓a teaspoon of vanilla
✓Pinch of salt...kidogoo sana
METHOD
•In a dry bowl, mix the flour,salt and yeast well until all the yeast blend into the flour well
•In a separate bowl put sugar and eggs and mix well
•In a clean sufuria ,pour your milk and add butter/ margarine and a teaspoon of vanilla extract and bring it to a boil until all the butter /margarine Is melted
•To the egg and sugar mixture,add the milk mixture and mix them well
•After mixing the egg(egg sugar ,salt) and milk mixture well(milk,vanilla ,butter), add your flour mixture (flour and yeast) and use s spatula/mwiko ya ugali to get a good mix or a if you've a hand mixer it can do this well
•On a smooth surface, sprinkle a generous amount of dry flour and place your dough
•Knead back and forth for around 8 minutes until you get a smooth dough.(The dough should be able to spring back when you press it)
•When it's done , cover your dough in a cling film or you can use a clean polythene like paper and Let the dough rest for 30-60 minutes... this gives room for the yeast to work magic and the dough to rise
•After the above time had elapsed,knead back the dough to remove excess air and preferably cut your dough into two pieces
•Roll each piece to a medium thickness and using a cup or glass or doughnut cutter make the round pieces...to make the holes 🤣in the middle, a doughnut cutter does or alternatively just use a bottle top...do for both pieces until all your dough is used(See pictures)
•If you've time and for best results, let the pieces rest again for an hour before deep frying or baking them....
• Heat your oil until it's slightly hot and deep fry your doughnut pieces on medium heat...too much heat will burn the doughnut and it'll have bubble like shapes on its surface
•fry till both sides are golden brown
•If you're patient they'll get to the table🤣
If it's the other case by the time you are done frying them ,the last doughnut will be the only available one 🤣🤣(See pictures for a remedy)
