Classic garden-style with and .

The rose bushes are leafing out and we’ll be in a flush very soon - just in time for the beginning of wedding season.

I’ve been dabbling in beneficial insects and fertigation, trying to make the season easier with the one day a week help we have right now. The bushes are full of ladybugs and green laced wings, and I’m hoping they stick around. 🐞 🐛

I have praying mantis eggs in mason jars lining my dining room window, just waiting for them to hatch so I can get them outside in time to go to town on our annoying grasshoppers.

We also had bees take up residence in one of our compost bins. We watch them, loaded with pollen, go in and out all day. I’ve always wanted to be a beekeeper without actually having to be one. My wish was granted and I feel very lucky for it. 🐝

I plan on doing a video compilation of the process this winter, if I can figure out how to put it all together. 🤣 🤦‍♀️

Here’s to an easier growing season and an amazing wedding season. I can’t wait to get back at it.

Our Washington wedding was one for the books and was also incredibly rewarding to create. From our “flower tunnel” reception entrance, to massive floral-covered pillars in the church, I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out.

The loveliest of couples, my wonderful clients, Claire and Aaron, were married last month in the community Claire grew up in.

Claire wanted it to feel like a backyard wedding, keeping it somewhat simple - focusing on patterns, lush spring florals, and an overall clean design. It was a joy to work on with her and I’m sad it’s over.

I love this family and am so happy to see it continue to grow.

On the 5,000th day of rain this season I’m wanting a little warmth - and this is coming from the person who way prefers rain over heat. The rain may have messed up my construction plans and farm move - today being another example of that - but it’s all good. Things will be completed and this will be just a memory in a few months. 🤞 (when we’ll all be sweating and wishing the cool would come back.)

Designing this space with my bride Madeline was a highlight of 2021. Maddie surprised me with the last minute request of the checkerboard dance floor and it ended up better than I could have imagined. I love it when the palette comes together so perfectly.

One of my favorite wedding details, ever. Working with these delicate butterflies for weeks was such a labor of love. Hydrating them, gently unfolding their wings, pinning them, drying them again, then designing with them with and - such intricate and detailed work. I’d love to do it again.

6 years today. I’m sure I’ve said this before, but it’s just so true for me. I didn’t really believe people when they told me that if you marry the right person it just gets better and better. It’s so true. I’m happier today than the day we married. Marriage is such and fun ride with this guy. Love you, babe.

Last week was an absolute dream at @ojaivalleyinn. My biggest wedding to date that flowed seamlessly from start to finish thanks to my incredible team and @sinclairandmoore.
