Good news Bunya Dreamers we got a lot of setting up done yesterday so we'll open the gates at 10 today. So come and set up early ready for the Welcome at 11:30.

We will be on site from tomorrow for Bump In (set up), Saturday our big day and Sunday for Bump Out. If anyone would like to come give a hand we'd appreciate it. As they say many hands make light work!!

So a challenge has been set!! (One of many on the day)

Here are our Bunya Dreaming 2023 Team Challenge title holders - SEQ Water Dream Team!!

Your challenge is to put together a team to enter the challenges of the day and claim the Bunya Dream Team trophy for 2024!! Many have entered over the years, many have tried but only one can be the winner on the day!! It could be a family team, friends, work colleagues, an organisation.. gather your troops, come along and give it a go.

Our challenges on the day are all things BUNYA:
Shucking
Storing
Gathering
Storytelling
Art
Cooking
Guess the Weight

This Saturday 20 Jan
Bunya Shelling arvo at Booloumba creek to prep nuts for Bunya Dreaming!

A chance to gather with others and share the Bunya season spirit preparing for the big gathering. Come along to Elischa & Ira’s from lunchtime onwards. Bring a picnic to keep you going, swimmers, your favourite Bunya shelling tool if you have one and extra Bunya cones if you have. (We have plenty of nuts & tools though.) The road sign says 4wd only but depending how much rain we’ve had, the first crossing might be passable in any car. Otherwise it’s adventure time; park and walk in 200m over crossings or carpool with a 4wder.

Address is 464 Booloumba Ck Rd and there’s a sign which says “‘Miriamdel Art Distillery.” Feel free to message Elishcha Swan to let her know if you are coming.

Ticket donations help to cover costs in order to make the day possible for us all to share and celebrate in together.

We have toilets on site, food tent, beautiful space to gather, stories to be shared, Bunya challenges to participate in and plenty more to enjoy on the day.
Bring along a chair/rug, an esky of cold drinks (this is a non-alcohol event), your own little family picnic...whatever you need to make yourselves comfortable for the day!!

How much do you think a Bunya Cone can weigh?

Their sizes vary as they fall from the Bunya Tree some smaller, some much larger cones.
We would recommend being careful standing under the shade of this majestic tree during Bunya Season, wouldn't want the weight and force of a Bunya cone falling on you!!!

The Bunya Cooking Challenge is always a delight on the day!! We love tasting and seeing the yummy recipes our Bunya Dreamers bring to the table...

We are looking forward to Bunya Dreaming 2024 and what cooking entries we will have on the day. Maybe a Bunya Pesto, a Bunya Cheesecake, Bunya Pizza?

The Bunya is so versatile and is a superfood full of goodness there endless possibilities.. Start thinking, creating and get your cooking aprons on to enter into the Cooking Challenge!!

Hey Bunya Dreamers, wow what a great day it was. I could only see joy on everyones faces. Thanks for helping the day be a success. We're are chasing some of our weaving that was on display at the registration tent. If anyone knows who has them or if you have them please message us with the good news and we'll make arrangements to get them back. Cheers to you!

Our dear friend De Greer Yindimincarlie won't be able to make it this year. De has always judged and coordinated the Bunya Guitar challenge. We will miss her presence. Luckily I've managed to lure Andrea Kirwin away from her Nambassador role to be our guest judge this year.
