✨April Adventure Announcement✨
March was a good adventure month with electric motocross and a crafty painting session with a twist. Looking forward into April, there are a couple of events for you - a very cheap social and a free adventure!

🔥 SOCIAL 🔥
Saturday 16th April, 12pm
Therrrrre’s been a murrrrder! Think you could solve it and catch the bad bastard who did it? Well, we’re going to find out when we take part in Cluedupp’s Edinburgh event. It’s an app-based murder mystery spread across the city centre. You’ll work in teams of 6 burds using forensic techniques, codebreaking, and good old-fashioned detective work to crack the case and lock em up.

There’s going to be heaps of folk taking part across Edinburgh and fancy dress is recommended. Undecided, I may or may not assign each team a bad guy catching theme to dress up as… may or may not just dress myself up as Jessica Fletcher. Happy to vote on it (not Jessica Fletcher, that’s happening).

🔥 ADVENTURE 🔥
Sunday 24th April 12pm
We’re heading to Cellardyke in the East Neuk for a spot of wild swimming/cold water therapy in the stunning tidal pool. It’s going to be cold so prepare yourselves! Some people wear wetsuits, some people just opt for water shoes, gloves and a hat and others go for it in their swimming suit – it’s up to you. Bring WARM layers for after ❄️

There’s also a rental place for SUP boards, canoes, kayaks etc. So if you fancy, you can even have a go on one of those (arranged by you, additional ££). This is a really relaxed and low key adventure so no charge for it but please grab a ticket so I have a rough idea of numbers. There’s a crepe van at the tidal pool for hot drinks and delicious sweet/savoury crepes and it’s just a short walk to the chippies in Anstruther for a post-swim munch.

Absolutely no experience necessary and all safety kit is provided - as long as you can ride a push bike, you can motocross!

This Saturday for our last ever online event (literally ever) we’re inviting an Edinburg drag queen to host our Drag Queen Quiztravaganza event! Zoom quiz, plenty of drinks and general knowledge. Mon meet some new pals and make your Saturday night instantly better.

£4 a ticket with all cash going straight to the queen for hosting and prepping the quiz. If we sell enough tickets, there’s also going to be a cash prize for the best team.

Two years ago today a bunch of total strangers put their trust in a random lassie on Facebook promising banter and came along to our very first event!

I fully expected a painful couple of hours with awkward conversation and excuses to leave early... what I didn’t prepare for was the energy, enthusiasm and endless laughter you lot brought.

Since that day, I’ve met literally hundreds of amazing gals from all walks of life and we’ve challenged ourselves to try new things and meet new people. I have a huge group of new pals, so much ticked off my bucket list and I’m forever grateful that all of you continue to show up and put as much into the group as I do. V IN THE PARK POSTPONED TO 2021 😩

Gutted to be making this decision but it‘s really out of our hands. Even if lockdown lifts in time, we don’t want to contribute to the risk of a second spike of Big Rona by holding an event.

Whilst we could postpone to later in the year thanks to a wonderfully understanding venue, times are too uncertain, so get your 2021 diary out and block off 25th-27th June because we’re partying then instead. Same weekend, same epic adventure, just a year on.

We absolutely promise you guys a bigger and better festival and thanks in advance for being understanding. To everyone who’s already bought a ticket - you’re all legends and we really hope you want to keep your ticket for 2021’s event. The theme for 2020 International Women’s Day is and I think that sums up Brave Burds perfectly.

We’re a bunch of women from all walks of life giving no f***s about education, location or how much money is in the bank trying typically male dominated sports and activities for fun.

We push ourselves to achieve what we achieve to be equal, not better. Equal to men yes but just as importantly, equal to each other and it makes me burst with pride.

Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.

Calling all gals who want more adventure in their life. Brave Burds is a social meet up group for epic lassies who want to meet new pals and try new adventures for the first time. This is a snapshot of the Brave Burds year so far. We’ve been climbing, skateboarding, axe throwing, to a graffiti class, motorbiking, had a ping pong pizza party, escaped escape rooms, got smashed a coupla times aaaand it’s just the start of June! What adventures have you had in 2019? If the answer is none, you know what to do!
