Thank you so much to the wonderful Tracey and Jo from for attending our last Coffee Club and talking all things swimming!

A little about ....
Swimkidz offers an innovative and unique swimming programme for babies and toddlers. Lessons teach lifesaving, safety and essential swimming skills. Lessons are structured, progressive and fun; promoting social, cognitive and physical development and is a fantastic bonding experience for you and your little one.

Swimkidz Classes for babies & toddlers
Hilltop Pool, Clophill MK45 4BY
Lessons run Tuesday mornings, Wednesday morning and afternoons and Sunday mornings.
Classes suitable for babies 2 months – 4 years
Run as 10-week courses, term time only

Thank you so much to the wonderful Emma of Wick & Melt for gifting us with these stunning wax melts which smell absolutely divine!

A little about Wick & Melt….
My name’s Emma and I live in North Bedfordshire with my husband, 2 children, and cocker spaniel, Fern.
I started Wick & Melt after my daughter bought me a wax melt making kit for mothers day in 2023. I absolutely loved it, so ordered a few more supplies and started making wax melts from home for friends and family. After a few requests for candles, I branched into this too but this is definitely more trickier than wax melts and demands a level of patience which luckily I have! Before long, I’d taken over the kitchen and dining room so my husband bought me a she-shed (more just to get rid of me, I think!) I decided in November 2023, to give it a go properly and started Wick & Melt.
My daughter who is now 13, helps somewhat. The initial idea was to get her off of technology and get stuck into something practical and rewarding, which does happen when I can prise her IPhone out of her hands! I truly love it and would love to do it full time one day. Until then, I’ll continue doing this alongside my part time job, and full time job of mum, wife, cook, cleaner, taxi.

Mollie is mummy to Mabel and founder of 🤍🐻 - she first discovered The Mum Club when Mabel was just 6 weeks old when attending her first brunch event!

The Mission : To get women out of the house during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives, to meet, connect and not feel alone.

The beautiful ladies in this picture didn’t know each other before they took a seat at this table. They spent more than two hours talking and laughing and taking some time for themselves while their little babies played and slept alongside them.

I was fortunate that I didn’t seem to get the baby blues after my daughter was born but what I did struggle with was taking that step to go out with her on my own, worrying about having to change her in a public place, what if she cried and bothered people around me, what if I had to feed her in the middle of wherever I was going – all things that when I look back now I can’t believe I worried about, but that’s easy to say almost a year down the line when you feel like a pro….

The events that we host are for mums at all stages of their journey, whether that be your first solo trip out of the house with your little and you’d like a safe, judgement-free space to try it, or you’re a seasoned professional with more than one little to keep you busy.
We create these spaces so that you can share the highs and lows of your motherhood journey with other mums who will likely have gone or be going through the same things you’re experiencing. I’ve witnessed some of our event attendees share some useful advice with each other, some amazing mum-hacks and even arrange meeting up again for walks with their littles.

YOU are important.
TIME for YOU is important.

Founded by Lauren, a former teacher and interior designer, who has combined her passions to form this beautiful children’s lifestyle brand.
She will be attending our September Brunch Club to showcase her curated range of children’s toys, clothes and nursery décor.

You may have noticed I’ve been a bit quiet on here over the last eight weeks or so..…
As some of you know, my beautiful Mum was recently diagnosed with cancer, so I have been taking some time off to look after her and figure out what the future looks like.

Thank you so much to all you wonderful ladies who have checked in on me, I appreciate you so much 🫶🏻

TMC Central Bedfordshire will be back with some events in September and they will be hosted by some of my wonderful TMC franchisee friends who have been so supportive 🩷

Details of events will be posted soon so watch this space.

I’ve had lots of lovely new followers in the last week - thank you! - so thought it might be a good time to reintroduce myself!
 
Hello, I’m Catherine 🙋🏻‍♀️
I am Mummy to my little girl Saoirse 💕married to Chris and dog-mum to Cooper 🐾
My day job is being an Operations Director which I absolutely love 🤓
I have a passion for organising events and bringing people together which is how I came to be the host of TMC Central Bedfordshire.
I hate tea and coffee ❌ I love hot chocolate – I can be found most mornings at Starbucks 🧋
I’m a huge advocate of mental health awareness and have been a Mental Health First Aider for over 10 years.
I found when I was pregnant with my daughter and loved how focused on mums the events were. While I’m all for baby groups, I feel like us mums need our time to connect with other like minded women who are, or have been, or will be going through the same things at some point. Motherhood is hard and we all need support from other women who just get it.
I’d love to make lots of new mum friends from the events I’m hosting and support local businesses in the area too.

A little bit about
🏊🏽Our nurturing and gently structured classes provide the perfect environment for your little one to learn water confidence and vital water safety skills which are key to developing their swimming ability.
Learning whilst having fun is key to our classes, getting into good habits by bringing your little one swimming will start their swimming journey and encourage them to continue with an active lifestyle.
Our welcoming warm pools are suitable for new-borns and highly trained instructors are by your side all the time to support the needs of both you and your little one.
You’ll be amazed to see that, within a few lessons, they’ll be moving freely under the water."

🌸 C-Section Awareness Month 🌸

However your child came into this world, remember that you are an absolute superhero for carrying that little one and bringing them to life 🫶🏻

My daughter is almost 7 months old now and it still amazes me the look of shock on people’s faces when I say I had her by elective c-section 🤦🏻‍♀️

Some people assume that having a baby by caesarean must mean something went wrong during delivery and it’s almost controversial to say it was elective. I am proud to say my c-section was MY choice 🙋🏻‍♀️ I had the most amazing experience with the entire team at MKUH 🏥 and I was at home 23 hours after she was born!

I know not everyone is that lucky and a c-section has been the result of some complications or wasn’t the birth plan you had or wanted, to you mummies I salute you 🫡

To my fellow C-Sections mummies, let’s celebrate you this month and remember, it is NEVER the “easy way out” ❗️

Whatever your story, you can sit with us ❤️
