ENGLAND BOXING BOARD MINUTES March 2025
The meeting was joined by the Head of Finance to present the 2025-28 budget, which had been endorsed by the Audit Committee and recommended for approval.
The Chair queried how it was proposed to finance the cumulative deficit position for reserves. The Head of Finance confirmed that available cash within the company would be utilised. Whilst this brought a risk of the company running as insolvent by a small amount, by year three it was expected that this position would turn around and a surplus would be achieved.
The Head of Finance advised that the three-year budgeting would be an annual process, looking at a rolling three-year period going forward.

ENGLAND BOXING BOARD MINUTES - May 2025

White Collar Boxing
It was noted that DCMS had advised that they would no longer be running round table events to discuss White Collar Boxing, with the consultation to instead be undertaken online.
The Board expressed concerns at the ongoing delays to the consultation, and the consequent risks to the sport should there be any incidents resulting in severe injury or death. The CEO confirmed that a change in legislation would be required to alter the current framework, requiring government intervention.
It was agreed that the Chair would write to the Minister for Sport to convey the Board’s concerns, stating that liability for any incidents should sit with DCMS whilst the consultation remained ongoing. Additionally, the CEO agreed to raise this issue with the reconstituted All Party Parliamentary Group for Boxing, with a view to encouraging MPs to become advocates for this issue.

Matchmaking Database Update::
Having tried to keep the notes section clear of irrelevant comments for over 2 years by simply removing 'sparring' comments, last night 7 boxers were deleted completely. It may seem a little harsh but it really shouldn't take over 730 days to get a message across and maybe, just maybe, such action will bring some success?
