September has shaped up to be a real devastating month. I am blown away by all the tragic events that have happened this month. I am devastated by all the murder that has happened. I am shocked that some think it’s their right to take life away from others. And that others would celebrate someone’s death. That places of education and worship are not safe. Imagine taking your children to church to worship God and try to live your life in a better manner and having your little girl shot in the back? What is happening to humanity???
I am saddened by the passing of the beloved LDS Prophet Russell M Nelson. I thought that man was just going to live forever. And I guess, technically… he is. My thoughts and prayers are with all the MANY victims that are grieving right now. Kindness and compassion goes a lot farther than anger and hatred.

Anyone else dying over how fast the canyons turned? Up here, it felt like it was literally over night, but man oh man the colors are so rich and stunning! I am so relieved to have also made it through another boiling hot Utah summer! Also relieved that it’s finally cooling off! October is going to be insanely busy, but I am totally here for it!

Hawaii on film. 🥹 A few months ago while in Hawaii helping my parents pack up their home to move, I decided to do things differently. Knowing I would be out walking the military base everyday while there, I strictly ONLY photographed on film. This forced me to slow down and be more thoughtful on my exposure, composition and lighting. It also helped me be more in the moment while I was there. I photographed about 2-3 rolls of film and these images are EVERYTHING to me. They are beautiful moments I always want to remember. They are moments from a trip I became closer to my mom. They were thoughtfully taken and they ONLY exist on ONE frame taken with time and love. This is part of the beauty of film.
