Grasshopper anyone? 🌴 AppleTV's Palm Royale, with the amazing Kristen Wiig + Ricky Martin, inspired our design direction for this milestone birthday bash we were lucky enough to produce this spring. Our client, aka the birthday girl, has such a fun, magnetic personality, and she was all in with us for the Palm Royale focus. Did we mention her nickname is CBass? 🫶🏼

We used green velvet + pops of pink + gold with gigantic, like really huge, tropical leaves to turn Thompson Hotels' Bayberry Room into a "Beach Ball", the end all be all event of the year on Palm Royale, worthy setting. 🦩

Swipe through to see the Gold Mirror Bar Menus, Party Royale Dessert Picks in pink, green + gold acrylic, and the custom invitation by perfectly set the tone for the whole experience. If you haven't seen Palm Royale, we highly recommend.🌺

On Friday night, we debuted our Rose Transparent Tablescape suite at a garden party for one of our all-time favorite clients with the ultimate summertime wine pairing. On the wine tasting mat, they highlighted:
🌼 Henri Champliau, Crémant de Bourgogne Rosé, Burgundy, France
🌼 Cantine di Dolia, Vermentino, Sardinia, Italy
🌼 Conte di Castignano, Dominio Chianti Riserva, Tuscany, Italy

We are super fans of interactive place settings as an opportunity to create a micro-experience for each guest that doubles up as the perfect conversation starter.

Wine tastings encourage guests to try grapes that are completely new to them as well as grapes they may "know" and might be under the impression they don't like don't like it. Sometimes by the end of the night, we have some converts who come to find they actually DO like the grape when it's grown in a different region. We do a little happy dance every time that happens. 🤗

CASE IN POINT
The taste differences between a California Chardonnay and a French Chardonnay can be significant. Don't get us wrong. We're not saying we can turn every guest into a Chardonnay lover, but we can say with confidence, a wine tasting can broaden your view of a grape you thought you knew. 🥂

Well, I was planning to do a quick post with just a few photos of our latest tablescape designs but then I couldn't pick any to leave. 🥹 I love them all so much... These party pieces are our babies. The team at Craven + Co. designs the pieces, in collaboration with a client or from scratch. We curate the materials, and last, but not least, we fabricate just about everything in our studio in beautiful Austin, Texas. Some pieces in the photos are already in our online shop, SuperCustom.com, and we're working quickly to wrap up the rest! 🌼

In January, the team from Women in Consulting at UT's McCombs School of Business reached out to us asking if Craven + Co. would consider being their consulting project for the Spring semester. WIC's mission is to empower women-owned + women-run small businesses by providing tailored consulting services at no cost to the company.

Thankfully, we said yes. This incredible group of women swooped in and did a deep dive into Craven + Co. to get a full understanding of who we are + what we do. They identified areas where we could refine our messaging around the services we offer and optimize the client-facing platforms we use to make it easier for prospective clients to understand our brand.

Each week, we had a video call with Claire Payne, our project lead, and she would present her committee's findings and offer well-defined action items for us... everything from an exposed line of code on our site, consolidating SAAS costs, potential partnerships for The Drink Calculator.

We were super impressed with WIC's understanding of the Craven + Co. brand and the nuances of our 3 branches of services: Full + Hourly Event Production, our event-driven product line Super\\Custom, and The Drink Calculator.

They're commitment to understanding us and doing the deep research to present relevant information each week kept our team focused and engaged. Knowing there was a team of smart, resourceful students giving us a fresh, objective perspective was a breath of fresh air that we needed.

Last Wednesday, the WIC team presented their final deliverables to us at the McCombs School of Business. It was so nice to see the individual women assigned to our project and to hear them deliver comprehensive reports of their findings.

We absolutely loved being a part of the WIC initiative. The experience was valuable, insightful, and resulted in real-life improvements for our company.

Thank you so much for choosing us. We sure will miss our WIC team! 💗

PAIGE + MARSHALL | FROM COURTHOUSE TO CABO
We 💜 this couple so much! For over a year, we've been planning Paige + Marshall's wedding that will be on November 9 in Los Cabo, Mexico. So we're beyond excited for that to get here! 🌊

In the meantime, a couple of weeks ago, Paige + Marshall had the sweetest, intimate wedding at Austin's Federal Courthouse to make it official. If you don't think sweetest, intimate + courthouse belong in the same sentence, just take a look at the photos. 🥹 I mean... so sweet.

Later that afternoon, Paige's "Nana" (tbh, the Nana everyone wishes they had) hosted the most stunning garden party for the newlyweds + their nearest + dearest at her home. Guests sat at velvet covered dinner tables under a canopy of flower garlands. 🌺

We brought in the pinks + greens they wanted with Rose Frosted Acrylic Menus with Emerald Acrylic Bases, dip-dyed + calligraphed place cards and gorgeous floral from House of Margot Blair. For our place settings, we brought in pale pink plates, fawn + gold flatware + assorted floral print glassware from Table Manners.

The signature drink was the official cocktail of garden parties, The Aperol Spritz. Sienna Strings tied it all together with their magical, Bridgerton-esque song list. Who knew a little garden party would claim its place in our all-time-favorite events? ...and it was a shoo-in. 🏆

In Texas, we l-o-v-e our tacos + margaritas. Tequila is always the first to run out at the bar.... and we love to weave a good ol' conversation starter into our events any chance we get.

For this client's summertime party, we offered guests five margarita recipes to choose from: Classic, Smoky, Spicy, Tropical + Sour. Once they ordered up their favorite margarita profile, we had a Pick Your Margarita Personality station where they grabbed the corresponding margarita badge to wear with pride. 🔰

CHANNELING RETRO BEACH VIBES
Texas feels like the center of the sun in the summertime. What does the C+C team do to survive it? Escapism.

We find limited edition materials, like this Sunset Acrylic, to make a Bonfire Beach Party invitation design as magical as a bonfire beach party sounds.

Mermaid + Monkey-laden cocktails will be handed out like candy at the traditional tiki bar, and we sure hope they add an umbrella.

We design, cut, print, pack + ship straight from our studio, then close our eyes + picture the cooler temps + ocean breezes of Pacific Beach.

Our other tricks include, but are not limited to:
☀️ inching our way into a cold plunge
☀️ kick board contests in the office neighborhood pool
☀️ beach chairs + blow up pool breaks
☀️ icy beverages on tap.
