Heroes N More was established in 2013 by Dave and Dawn Russell, who, at the time were struggling with their own son. Gabriel is the founding couples' child, and the reason why Heroes N More exists today. Gabe has been diagnosed with a myriad of different disorders that have affected his quality of life. Dave and Dawn saw how there was little support for their child, and other children and their families, and felt that even if they could not do much - they needed to do something. They knew what the long sleepless nights in ICU felt like, They knew what heartbreaking news was like to receive - because they lived it. They made the decision to use cosplay to be purposeful in reaching these families and children. Their goal was to bring smiles, even if just for a moment. So that these mighty warriors knew their pain and struggle was not unnoticed. Heroes N More seeks to reach special needs children, terminally ill children, and others who are fighting seemingly insurmountable challenges. Our non profit has grown through the years, thanks to personal donations, and through building relationships in the community. We run solely on donation, and our reach is only as vast as our donations allow. Our goal is to reach more children each year, through social media posts, special events, and community connections in the San Antonio and local area. Pictured below is Gabriel. He is our "WHY". He, and every child like him, who have struggled as he has - is why we heed the call of a hero to bring smiles to those in need.
