As a mom of kids who are getting a bit older, I find myself feeling a bit useless. I mean, I know they need me, but when one is off helping at VBS, and the oldest is at work all day, and the youngest is busy with his friends, I find myself feeling like I'm not needed. It's such a weird place to be - for so long they each needed me for something. I'm questioning all sorts of things right now, and have to admit, I'm a bit lost in my life.
But, thankfully, I have an amazing lady in my life that told me this a few years ago, "just do the next right thing." She told me this when I was questioning my life and purpose. I still question my purpose all the time and have a lot of doubts about what I'm doing and what I should be doing, but that little bit of advice sure helped me not worry about it all so much. I'm in a similar place in my life again, filled with questions about what my purpose is, so I'm clinging to this advice - just do the next right thing.
If you are filled with doubts or wondering what in the world you should be doing with your life - take her advice, just do the next right thing. :)
Yep. I totally need a hair cut! My hairs are long! Yikes! :) Only a few more days.....
Although I forgot to get a photo of my kiddos on Mother's Day - I did get pics of the cool gifts they each made me! :) Being a super creative person, I love that they MADE me gifts - and for my youngest, it was a HUGE stretch for him to make me something because he HATES arts and crafts. :) My oldest printed me flower vases with his 3D printer and then he even ordered and planted succulents in them, and my daughter made me a huge poster with candy on it! So creative! Loving my kiddos! While I love gifts from the heart, I also love eating out, so we did that too (thanks to the hubs). What did you do to celebrate Mother's Day?

Love this so much - especially beause I'm a proud for 2 of my kids at the elite level. Learning to support them when they feel good or not the best after a game is a tricky balance as a mom. Great post - feel free to share!

It's been a crazy weekend, we were not home at all, I didn't get any chores done, I'm slightly sunburned, and exhausted...but the sun is out and I'm hitting the street to go run...might as well have fun doing it!

**Soo an update to this post...I went for my run, and the route I decided to run took me right past my daughter's middle school, where a bunch of her buddies were at outdoor gym class. One of them (a boy I've known for years and actually used to nanny), was running right past me down the path with all his friends.
To his credit, he said hi and also said, "Nice socks!" - a couple of his friends did not agree and made fun of me (which my thoughts --whatever - you're an 8th grader - bring it), but it didn't stop me! I'm in my 40's and I just ran faster up the hill than a bunch of 8th grade athletic boys... boom. It's all the socks for sure! :)
Wooot!!! Love new running shoes! And these are marvelous! Just don't ask my kids... they practically have to wear sunglasses to look at them! 😆 🤣 you have a fav pair?
If you need a good book to read, I just finished this one - Becoming Free Indeed by Jinger Duggar Vuolo, and it's excellent! If you've followed her show and family for years like we have, you'll understand why this book took a lot of guts to write.
Way to go Jinger Vuolo, so proud of your bravery and how you graciously shared the truth of Jesus in writing this book. I pray you and your family are blessed beyond measure for standing up for the Truth! Way to go mama!

Right now, I'm actually reading: The Mayflower Bride, Kimberley Woodhouse - it's great! I'm actually trying to read the full Daughter's of the Mayflower Series. I found this one at the library.
Then, I'm listening to: The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, Kim Michele Richardson - which is also very good - while I run in the mornings. I found it FREE on Libby too! Woot!

How was your Easter? Ours was fantastic! We have recently moved to a new church home (about 9 months ago) and we are LOVING IT! We just needed a fresh start - nothing wrong with the old church, we just need a change and we are feeling so at home here and loving the new and different traditions this church has. One neat thing we did after Easter services, was to release live butterflies - my youngest LOVED this part of the day. :) So, how was your Easter? What did you do to celebrate the day?

Proud mom moment for me! My oldest son is on a robotics team that qualified for FIRST Robotics Competition World's in Texas in mid April. I'm so proud of him and his team! They are a smaller team - only 15 kids, and don't have big sponsors backing them like a lot of the other teams. They have a big moutain to climb when it's comes to funding, as just the registration alone to enter their robot is $5K. If you love engineering and want to donate to his team to get to Worlds - I'd be humbled and would great appreciate it!
