First, I want to say: Happy Friday, you made it! The weekend is just a few hours away. (Unless you are a wedding professional, then woo! Good luck with your wedding tomorrow!)

Now on to the . Most of you don't know, I am on the board for the National Association of Wedding Professionals. I am the social media chair.

I was so shocked to be nominated because I felt like I was awful at social media and they wanted me to be responsible for all of the social media for the organization?!? What!? But I am so glad I have the opportunity to be apart of such a great organization. . Not only have I had the chance to work on some great projects, the group has really brought me out of my shell. There are so many great, supportive professionals in the group who have pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and work on High Profile Events.

Side note: if anyone is ready to get married in Door County please call me! It is so gorgeous there, I want to plan a wedding there so badly!

Have you wondered why traditionally brides wear veils? (Other than the fact that they are gorgeous.)

According to Howstuffworks: The veiling of the bride has origins in the idea that she's vulnerable to enchantment, so she must be hidden from evil spirits. The Romans veiled brides in flame-colored veils to actually scare off those spirits. Perhaps the most evil of spirits, in an arranged marriage, is the threat that the groom, who is perhaps seeing the bride for the first time, won't like what he sees. The veil saves everyone some embarrassment in the short term. . Also, in many religions, the veil is a sign of humility and respect before God during a religious ceremony.

We are back for another ! For those just joining us, I'm Hannah, the one behind the scenes making weddings run!

When it is not wedding season, I get to spend a few weekends off! While I love what I do, having some weekends off is amazing. Usually my weekends are Sunday/Monday. Which ends up working out as the stores are usually empty on Mondays :)

When I am not working, my boyfriend and I are trying to get to every winery in the state. We are currently at 18 wineries. Yes, this sounds impressive...until you find out there are currently 78 wineries in Wisconsin. So we have a bit more to get to but it's about the journey not the destination.

While wineries are the main focus, we don't discriminate against alcohol. We also try to hit breweries and distilleries if they are in the area.

So if anyone needs a suggestion on wineries, breweries, or distilleries in our great state, I'm here for you! Or if you have one that we must try reach out!

Today's history lesson is about the Best Man.

The best man's former duty was to make sure the bride didn't escape during the ceremony. Sometimes he was even asked to kidnap her. I must say, I'm glad we live in this time period.

The best man was given the title not because he was the groom's best friend, but because he was the best man for the job of getting the bride to the alter. He was the strongest and most capable man in town.

The Best Men have it a little easier now, keeping the rings safe until the ceremony. I would like to keep it that way :)
