The Hufstedler Family of SA Media would like to wish you a great Thanksgiving week! I’m finding a lot to be grateful for especially my daughter, who is the center of my entire heart and universe. And my husband for the amazing father, husband, and best friend that he is. I’m also grateful for each of you 🩷

And from me to you, please love on your loved ones. Love on those who look like they don’t need it. Love on those who look like they need it. Tell them how grateful you are that they are here. To be completely transparent, I am finding gratefulness in just being here. Exactly one week ago, I was taken to the hospital in a mental health crisis. I didn’t want to live through what I was feeling anymore. Desperate to just make it stop. This feeling had built over time and I think Post-Partum Depression still has a hand on me in some way. My medication wasn’t working the way it was supposed to. It’s the snowball effect of being angry with myself that I still struggled so much after weekly therapy, meds, and a seemingly “good” life, which made the struggle worse. I asked myself so much “how did I get here” and the answer is still unclear. This past week has mostly been about advocating for myself to get the support I so desperately needed. Being totally open and honest about my feelings, instead of downplaying them, is what is got me to today. Posting this, means more than my closest circle will know how weak I have felt inside, and while that is scary, maybe it will help someone reach out for help, and feel less shame in doing so. If you need to, go to the hospital. Get a good therapist AND a good psychiatrist. Go to your spouse, your mom, your dad, your best friend. TELL THEM what you are feeling the same as it comes to your mind. Cry in front of them if your eyes can’t help but well up with tears. It’s going to be okay. I am still walking through the darkness,
still have to be reminded that it will be okay, and that is okay too. And if you cannot find something to be grateful for, stay here and keep fighting because the day will come when you will say “I am grateful that my life didn’t end then.”
