Sharing for our friends at light up Lecanto. (Not* our lightshow) This is always a hard one to see in this hobby. People have no idea just how much time and energy goes into putting up these larger displays. We put in countless months of planning and physical work just to bring a little joy and happiness to others during the holiday seasons. Many times it's just expected and not always appreciated or respected (negative reviews over a free light display...)

There's always a time where a display has to make that call. This year light up Lecanto had to make that call Sad to see that they won't be a part of it this year but we completely understand. We almost took the year off as well. The world has been upside down for many of us. We all know this hobby is not cheap.

This year we will try to help bring the Christmas spirit and continue our yearly ritual of toy drives to help with those in need. But we know it's going to be a lot harder knowing one of the best displays in the county is not lit up this year.

Thank you for being one of the top (If not the top) display Ted. We hope to see you back at it even better next year!

Yes, Our LightUpCitrus Christmas lightshow WILL be on this year.

LightupLecanto , Christmas Decorations and Lights Display for 2024 will not be happening this year. Due to a long tiresome year, unforeseen circumstances and timing of many uncertainties.
From all of us at LightupLecanto, we like to Wish Everyone a Safe Holiday Season, Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas.

Now that all the crazy election stuff is over with, Here is an update on our Christmas lightshow plans.

With Thanksgiving falling at the very end of the month this year, we will probably end up starting the light show a week early this year. As always Facebook followers will be the first to know. So be sure to like and follow the page for updates.

Stay tuned as we get everything set up and tested. Fingers crossed that we can be ready in under 2 weeks!

Our lightshow will be on until 10:30pm tonight. It turns on at dark. Tonight is the final night until Thanksgiving night. Then our Christmas lightshow starts.

If parking is busy, you can always walk up to the display. There is plenty of parking further down the street in the easement area's. Normally it's not too bad on Halloween night.

Don't forget to trick or treat the rest of the neighborhood coming in. Many folks look forward to trick or treaters.

During our light shows, we will be collecting new and unwrapped toy donations for the upcoming holidays. They will be given directly to Casa Citrus domestic violence/abuse shelter.
Donations are not required to enjoy the show. But any and all, are greatly appreciated.

They are accepted at both the toy drive box on the front porch,
And at the other (LightUpCitrus) donation box halfway up the driveway on the tree.
Please limit toy donations to new and *unwrapped* toys only.
That way the shelter knows what the toys are and can distribute them accordingly. These toys are redistributed through Casa to local families in need. Not just during the holidays but also the families that they help year round.

For those who don't know, We are a very large part of this community. Have been for many years and are well known for the charity work that we do.

The lightshow WILL be back on tonight. There are still a few things that need to be repaired. So understand that there may be glitches or things that still need to be fixed from the storm, but the lightshow WILL be on tonight until 10:30pm.

Toy Drive:
Remember folks we are collecting new and unwrapped toy donations for Casa Citrus holiday toy drive this year. Toy donations can be made at the toy drive box on the front porch.

Monetary donations can be made at the donation box halfway up the driveway on the tree.
They are very much appreciated but are not required to view the show.

We put a lot into all of this with time, labor and money. All we ask is that you respect our investment. This is the third time that the Halloween display has been put up this year.
Hopefully it is the last.

Please respect what we do for the community and please do not be loud or obnoxious. Keep radio volume turn down!!!
Respect our neighbors and our community. Clean up after yourself!
There is a small trash bucket at the end of the driveway.

At this point I am making the call 🤞🙏 Tonight will be the final night of the light show
*pending the outcome of the storm*
Tonight the light show will end at 9:30 p.m.

Scary. No other way to describe it. Winds of 175 mph. Still, the forecast of weakening as it approaches our coastline remains intact. Without getting too sciency, Milton will go through ERC's (Eyewall replacement cycles) will cause fluctuations in strength. As the storm approaches, it will run into 35-40 mph shear. That will weaken Milton. How much? I'd say a couple categories. Remember, this is a VERY small storm. Hurricane winds only extend about 25 miles. Yes, it will get larger, but the worst of the wind will be in a very small area. Unfortunately, that area is likely to be in our area. And again, surge is still a huge threat. Regardless, a powerful hurricane is almost assuredly going to make landfall in our area. Don't take it lightly.

Annual free October / Fall Lightshow at LightUpCitrus - Lecanto and Toy drive for Casa Citrus. It's that time of year again! This year we are opening early for the public. After everything our community has been through this year, we feel as if everyone could use some happiness. That kind of happiness that only light up citrus can bring from our synchronized holiday light shows.

This year we have synced 19 songs to the lights. Nine of them are new songs.
Our light show will run every night starting now through October 31st.

Facebook follower preview tonight and tomorrow. Beginning at dark and will run until 10:00 p.m.

Have 2 different runs that we have to fix tomorrow on the detached garage. But it seems like everything else is up and working. Several repairs still have to be made.

Tonight's sneak preview has ended. But there will be another one Tomorrow night and Sunday night beginning at dark. Sneak peek shows will run until 10:00 p.m.
