Lightupcitrus We are one of Citrus counties most highly decorated homes for Free Halloween & Christmas lightshows!

Our free to the public displays run October 1st through October 31st for our Halloween light show. Then start again for our Christmas lightshow in mid November through January 5th. Our displays also collect toys / donations for local non profits. Certain holidays we light up as well but they are not synchronized to music. A very special thank you to all of those who donated toys to the toy drive for CASA Citrus this year. This year was a bit slower for donations. Which was understandable considering how the economy has been lately. But you guys still came through! These bags were already taken up to Casa.
But apparently we forgot to post the pictures for everyone.

The good thing about Casa citrus, is that they help people year-round. Not just for Christmas.
And all of your donations help *local* families :)

If interested, you can help them year round as well. Simply by following their page and seeing what their weekly immediate shelter needs are. Something as simple as a $5 or $10 feminine or hygiene item can help and you can even have it shipped to them without ever leaving your house!

Thank you to everyone for always making these toy drives possible. All we do is provide the venue. You guys are the ones behind the scenes who truly rock!

New Years Lightshow remix is now live and our show is only on through January 5th!! This gives families something to do now, New Year's Eve, New Year's night or even a couple days after.
(New Year's Eve we typically leave the lights on later)

So if you're looking to get that last minute enjoyment of our lightshow in, come on out to the show any night between now and January 5th. We have added Halloween and dance favorites back to the playlist. We have removed all of the Christmas songs.

Here's to bigger and better things for the new year. Thank you to the new friends that we have met this year. And thank you to all of those who made this year a great turnout. Especially to the Citrus Merry-Makers for forming a group of Christmas cars and really changing the way people viewed them in the county. We are proud to call you guys our new friend family!

Final chance to come out and enjoy our light show. We want to say thank you to everyone who has come out this year. We definitely met some new friends this year.

We are on the verge of possibly doing something very big. We have teamed up with just the right people and are working on putting together a team of laborers that will benefit the local community.

Just like many experienced with pricing quotes for their lights this year, we all know that prices are getting out of control here and people are charging up to four times what they should. There used to be companies that were happy with just getting by not trying to ruin their customers financially.

Have no fear!
We are working on getting a team together to bring joy and happiness year round!
Not just through holiday displays, but by being that extra set of hands that others can never seem to get to show up. The difference is, that we will actually show up!

How do we do that? Simple by doing honest work, at honest prices and not turning down those jobs that are too small. That one small job could turn into hundreds of others. Some businesses have forgotten that...

*We will not be able to do anything that's licensed (trade) or requires permiting*

But for those who need a general laboror or somebody to help out, you know how hard it can be in this community to get somebody to actually show up to the job. (Or even to show up for a quote)

What if a few of the biggest light displays in the county teamed up, And literally created a year-round side business that wasn't all about getting rich. It was about providing a service to the community and getting by while charging affordable rates (like most businesses used to).

There are many good companies around here.
Don't get me wrong. But there are also a lot of local companies that have lost that customer service approach. There are also companies who feel they need to make an entire month's income off of one job.

Not the team we are assembling. We are just going to offer second opinions on general labor work.

Tired of being quoted over $500 for someone to come out for 2 and 1/2 hours and put mulch in your flower beds for you? What if you could get it done for less than half that price, by good honest hard-working people who are known for bringing happiness to the community?
This could be a win-win for everyone!

Side work, side jobs, low voltage permanent holiday lighting, general handyman, off season lighting installs and so on.

(Sorry nothing that requires permitting/licensing)

This is something that is going to possibly be in the works. I think we finally have the right people to make this vision happen.

PARTY TIME! Our light show went rogue. We now have some of our Halloween favorites back in the playlist. The lights are still on every night through January 5th. If you missed it this year during our Halloween show, we have brought back some of those songs for the new year.

As lighting season winds down, this is the last hoorah for everyone to be able to enjoy the lights until next October.

Our lights will be on every night beginning at dark and stay on until 10:30 p.m.

For those wondering just how effective our Christmas light display list is...
In only 13 days time, there were over 7,000 map views 👀

You too can join the list for next year if you have a larger than average display. All you have to do is send us a message towards the end of November next year and send a photo of the completed display along with all of the details.

It really is just that simple. The reason for the photo is so that we can verify it is in fact a larger than average display. (You would be surprised how many people put up two strings of lights and want to be added to the list)
Nothing against them but 99% of people want to go to the larger displays. So those are the ones that make our list after verification.

Don't forget some of these light displays are still on through New Year's Eve.

Throwback Thursday Remix! New light show playlist beginning tonight. Bringing back the Halloween light show favorites.

Since Christmas Has officially passed, The Grinch has once again stolen Christmas.
We are going to try something a little different and begin the celebration and party aspect of the new year early!

There will still be *some* of our Christmas songs in the mix, but we are bringing back a lot of the upbeat and fun songs from our 2024 Halloween lightshow. Eminem, shaboosie, imagine dragons, gremlins parody, Beetlejuice and more!

Yes that means the music will be heavier and metal will be put back into the mix along with other music genres that are popular with the younger generation:)

Congrats to everyone involved especially Jeff for his awesome first year display down in Sugar Mill. (And someone who has participated in all of our trunk or treats) I seen you putting in that work sir. Great job! And also to Austin out in Floral City for winning this side's contest. He woke up to a very colorful message from me this morning (in true Clark Griswold fashion!) Oh yeah it definitely gave that M@$ # a chuckle... but it was all in fun. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

His was so awesome of a display, that I had to do a live of it.
Well deserved win sir!!!
AND.... Not only does he have a huge gingerbread farmhouse display, he also happens to be one of the Citrus Merry-Makers !!!!!
Like I said, a WELL deserved win!!
Congratulations and a huge thank you for what you guys are doing for the community. Now that y'all have a following I expect you guys to grow every year!

Congrats to EVERYONE regardless of their display size. Thank you for all of your hard work. Together each and every one of us are BEING THE LIGHT! Spreading joy and happiness by lighting up one smile at a time :)

And for those few displays who took the year off, trust me we understand. Nobody understands just how much goes into all of this behind the scenes. We hope all is well with you all. Don't worry, we ALL lit the torch for you this year. Together All of our displays combined, lit up Citrus! Hopefully you all bounce back next year!

Merry Christmas Eve! It's holiday lights season busiest two nights of the year for all Christmas light displays.

Don't forget to check our pinned post at the top of the page. We have *40* larger Christmas light displays on the list this year.
The pinned post also has a Google maps link for all of the locations.

If coming out to the display the next 2 nights you will not be able to park across the street without your view being blocked. So please park further down the road and WALK Up to the display.
Please do not park in neighbors yards or use their driveways as a turnaround point. You can park in the easement areas of vacant lots only.
To exit the community, You can follow Heathrow all the way out both directions.

In honor of our Christmas Eve tradition, Our lights will remain on ALL NIGHT Christmas eve to help guide Santa's path...

The speakers will be turned down at 11pm but for those working night shift, the display will be on all night so if you need a little boost of happiness during your break, Our lights will be on and you can tune in on your radio. This is something we do every year for EMTs, law enforcement or those who work the night shift.

We also will be serving hot chocolate here at our light show tonight :)
Sorry but due to increased traffic during the next two nights, we will not be doing any special events other than serving hot chocolate.

And last but not least thank you for everyone that came out last night to see the final run for the Citrus Merry-Makers
This is a great group of people that got together just to do something that brings joy and happiness to others. That is literally what light up citrus has always been about. All volunteer-based and all for the love of making others happy.

We are so happy that they're going to continue that tradition. Please like and follow their page so they can see just how important it will be to the community!!!!

First, THANK YOU to everyone who came out tonight. This was a night to remember for so many in our community. The faces of both young and old lit up with smiles said it all!

Second, Sorry for the late start. The Car folks had to work late and then come here. This was all done voluntarily. So we thank them for all of their hard work and for putting in the overtime here to bring everyone joy and happiness with their lights.

Third, You guys have inspired yet another visit Monday night from the Citrus Merry-Makers

Throughout their love for the holidays, we have all found ourselves new friends with the sole purpose of just wanting to make others happy and bring smiles to their faces through our love of lights.

I am so glad to see this taking off for them. Whoever thought lights would bring happiness to so many people. We will be promoting them every year!

Tonight is the night! Light show, hot chocolate & Christmas lighted vehicles! We will be serving hot chocolate here at our light show and have the heater out beginning shortly after 7:30 p.m. tonight.

We will also have the Citrus Merry-Makers here (back by popular demand) beginning **after 7:30 p.m.**
If you have a lighted vehicle for Christmas, bring it out!

Please remember this is always the busiest weekend for any light display right before Christmas. Please carpool when possible.

Do NOT park in neighbors yards or use their driveways!!!!

Sorry folks, *No Santa visit this year*.

Parking at the display is going to be congested. Please park further up the street in the easement areas of empty lots only. From there you can WALK up to the display. There are speakers within the display to hear the show. You will not be able to view the show from across the street in your vehicle without your view being blocked tonight. So please park further down the street and walk up to the display!!!

(This may be the last year for parking across the street due to a new home being built)

If you come out to see the cars, they are planning to do this every year. Please help them grow their group by liking and following their page.

Remember folks we do all of this for free for the community. Its all about bringing smiles and happiness to others.

We do accept donations at the donation box halfway up the driveway on the tree, but they are not required to view the show or attend any event nights.
(This hot chocolate night was paid for by viewer donations :) )

Unsupervised children will not be allowed in the driveway. It is getting out of hand this year with people letting their kids run In our driveway when we have asked them not to.

Please do NOT let children run in our driveway or cross over the PVC fence. The driveway area is open for photos.

Sorry folks but no more Candy canes this year. We have already gone through over $150 in candy canes and it's not even Christmas yet. So from here on out, peppermint candies will be provided. They are much more affordable than candy canes in bulk this year. Please remember the take one rule...

SNEAK PEEK Facebook followers! LIVE NOW! This weekend our lights will be on Friday Saturday and Sunday nights to run testing. This means The Christmas light show is on but there may still be glitches that need to be found/fixed or there may be things that are not working properly. However the show will go on while we try to look for anything that needs to be corrected. This is our testing before it goes public. Again, please do not share this post. This is strictly for our Facebook followers to get a sneak preview this weekend. During this time the ferris wheel will not be operable as (once again) it needs to be repaired. Show starts tonight at dark and will run till 10:00 p.m. nightly this all of this weekend. Final few days of our Free October light show. The show begins at dark and runs until 10:30 p.m. nightly. Click on the following blue link for all of the details. October / Fall Lightshow at LightUpCitrus - Lecanto - and Toy drive for Casa Citrus. During our light shows, we will be collecting new and unwrapped toy donations for the upcoming holidays. They will be given directly to Casa Citrus domestic violence/abuse shelter. Donations are not required to enjoy the show. But any and all, are greatly appreciated. They are accepted at both the toy drive box on the front porch, And at the other (LightUpCitrus) donation box halfway up the driveway on the tree. Please limit toy donations to new and *unwrapped* toys only. That way the shelter knows what the toys are and can distribute them accordingly. These toys are redistributed through Casa to local families in need. Not just during the holidays but also the families that they help year round. For those who don't know, We are a very large part of this community. Have been for many years and are well known for the charity work that we do. Sunset times change daily. While viewing our light show, you are able to get out of your vehicle and listen to the show on the speakers within the display OR from the comfort of your own vehicle by parking across the street (in the easement area only). Guest are limited to the front of the display and the driveway area only. Do NOT park in our neighbors driveway or easement area. Please remember to keep your radio volume and voices down to a minimum. Clean up after your guests and please respect our neighbors and neighborhood. For those who don't know about our Halloween themed lightshows, This show is different from our family Christmas themed music. This show is considered our PG-13 show

FB FOLLOWER PREVIEW WEEKEND! Have 2 different runs that we have to fix tomorrow on the detached garage. But it seems like everything else is up and working. Several repairs still have to be made. Tonight's sneak preview has ended. But there will be another one Tomorrow night and Sunday night beginning at dark. Sneak peek shows will run until 10:00 p.m. Please remember to NOT share the posts that advertise our Facebook follower preview nights. These are exclusive for our Facebook followers and just something we try to do to give our Facebook followers that little extra before we start advertising the opening publicly. Change up from last year Every three songs, there is a 90 second photo opportunity. Last year it was every four songs. Folks please remember how much time and energy goes into all of this. It's been a nightmare this year trying to get it up and going. We have not started on the toy drive yet. We are accepting monetary donations at the donation box halfway up the driveway on the tree. One of Citrus counties Holiday homes

Our display has grown over the years and we have been in our current location since 2015. Our Holiday displays are known for being more of a focus on Halloween and Christmas. We do have landscape lighting for other holidays as well. Our display is computer controlled and FM broadcast to the street so you can enjoy the lights dancing to music. We also have speakers in our display for those who like to get out of their vehicles and check things out.

While viewing our display we must stress that all visitors keep their radio volumes to a minimum as we respect our neighbors and want to continue our display. In years past some visitors have been a Grinch and decided to blast their radios and honk horns. Please do not do that. Respect our neighbors and keep radio volumes to a minimum. We want to continue to spread joy to others through our display and keeping our neighbors happy is very important to continuing the show.

Our Halloween light show is normally the first week of October through Halloween night.

Our Christmas light show starts Thanksgiving night and runs through Jan 5th. If you come by the week before thanksgiving to see the progress, You may even catch a sneak peak of our light show being tested. Sometimes we literally have to sit in front of the lights with the computer to sort out conflicts and program everything to run properly.
