You might wonder what a petrol can could have to do with weddings...
Today a groom came to sign the NOIM with me, his bride is still overseas and he urgently needed the confirmation that he has signed the NOIM for her visa. On the way here he almost ran out of fuel and he would not get back to a petrol station. I rang a neighbour for some spare petrol. The neighbour needed to leave soon... So swiftly we did the NOIM, raced to the neighbour, made an improvised funnel from card board to put some petrol in his car, then drove to another neighbour, a JP, who would witness my stat dec that I have received the NOIM. And off he went after a hectic half an hour. All done. I hope all goes well! I love my work and my neighbours. Never a dull moment :)

You might wonder what this picture of "Senses Fail", American post-hardcore band, has to do with weddings....
Well, my couple's first date was their concert.
So I set out to do some research to find out what they sang at that concert, checked out the lyrics and found some lovely tender words. I am going to include them in the ceremony to link their first date with the wedding day.

Wedding ceremonies CONDUCTED IN A PROFESSIONAL VENUE - such as a reception or function centre - can have a maximum of 100 people regardless of the size of the venue. These facilities must have an approved Covid Safe plan.

It is important if you are unwell, that you do not go to a wedding.
A record of names and contact details of each guest must be kept for 56 days to assist in contact tracing if required.

PRIVATE WEDDING SERVICES performed in PUBLIC AREAS AND SPACES in the restricted Local Government Areas can have a maximum of 10 people attend including the bride, groom and marriage celebrant.

Today was an important day in the history of Australia! Just might have been the first celebrant in Australia to speak the new wording at our 6am wedding in Currumbin today! Very exciting. Instead of "union of a man and a women" it now says "union of two people".
