Hailing from Philly, Elliott Reid, AKA Lieutenant Reid, got a early taste of DnB back in 1997 by listening to a local radio DJ named Starchild and from buying records from the infamous vinyl ju**ie Jason Magin at 611 Records. The Lieutenant got deep into the Philly DnB scene by working security at Dieselboy’s DnB curated night Platinum at Fluid Nightclub. Reid is a big proponent of the U.S. Drum a

nd Bass scene. Reid uniquely blends Old School with New School to take junglists on a journey that spans multiple decades from the knowledge he has gained over his 20 years of DJing dipping in and out of Jungle, Liquid Funk, Sambass, Techstep and intelligent sounds. His talent as a DJ receives high praises as he is often sought after to either open or headline shows up and down the Eastcoast, sharing the stage with the likes of Friction, Edward Oberon, Black Sun Empire, Metrik, TC, ODI, Mason, Dara, AMC, Flite, Echo Brown, AK1200, Jumping Jack Frost and MC Armanni Reign. Noteworthy accolades include making his way to the finals of Atlanta’s Billionaire Bass Brawl playing an all DnB set among competitors playing multiple subgenres in EDM. Lt Reid is known for mashing the old school jungle vibes with new school basslines. He specializes in DnB along with various forms of Deep House.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he first got his taste of EDM through artists like Chemical Brothers, Aphex Twin, Frankie Knuckles and soundtracks from Hackers and Spawn.

In 1997, a family friend recommended a weekly Drum and Bass radio show based out of Princeton, NJ (WPRB, 103.3) known as Camouflage hosted by DJ Starchild. This starter his journey through the old school stylings of Lemon D, 2 Bad Mice, Roni Size and Goldie. Here is where he also learned where to purchase these classic vinyls (611 Records, RMP Records, Planet X) that helped shape his young ears and mold them into what they are today.
