Dance Hub Bristol A hub for professional dance artists working in and around Bristol. We call the initiative Dance Hub Bristol. The physical hub doesn't exist anymore.

For a year, a few years ago, many dance artists in Bristol got together to build a little nest in Bristol: a shared office space and access to adjoining dance studio. It was useful for the time it did, helped many forged relationships with fellow artists and organisations and feel less isolated. This page is a remnant of the initiative. It is not regularly managed by anyone. You may find some interesting things popping onto it though!

Check out this dance workshop for those aged 6-16 with a love (present or potential) for science, maths, ballet and breakdancing. Spaces limited. Book at https://www.headfirstbristol.co.uk/whats-on/bristol-cathedral-chapter-house/sat-4-may-diaspora-science-and-maths-dance-workshop-107100

Like science/maths/ballet/breakdancing? Aged 6-16? Join us Saturday 4th May 11-1pm at the Chapter House in Bristol Cathedral for our Diaspora! Science and Maths Dance Workshop.

We will teach you some ballet and breakdancing moves, take some quantum physics and aperiodic number theory that will blow your mind and break it down in a way that is easy to understand and irresistible to work with.

Then we will show you how to translate into dance not just the ideas but the thrill of the chase in their discovery so you can come up with some brilliantly unique choreography.

The workshop is led by a performing ballet dancer with a PhD in physics and a breakdancer.

Places are limited so nab yours now!

Tickets available at https://www.headfirstbristol.co.uk/whats-on/bristol-cathedral-chapter-house/sat-4-may-diaspora-science-and-maths-dance-workshop-107100

Bristol Dancers! Did you miss out on the One Dance UK dance photoshoot in May?!
Well photographer Dani Bower () will be returning next week Wed 17th - Friday 19th August and is offering a few location shoots around Bristol to dancers interested in being part of One Dance UKs Image library.

The library is used to advocate for dance and dancers, promote health and wellbeing, inspire children and young people and inclusive practices. This project is a way of highlighting the sheer breadth and amount of talent the dance sector contains, in different locations around the UK. We have already shot in Glasgow, London, Birmingham, Cardiff and Leeds, so get in touch If you or your company would be interested in taking part to highlight dance happening in Bristol. For more information, please contact [email protected]

Huge shout out to Farrah Fortnam Contemporary Art who painted this beautiful mural design on Marlborough Hill Steps. A project delivered in partnership with Bristol City Centre BID in partnership with University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).
