2020 Shootout in the Books!

Just wanted to thank all the racers and both RJ's Raceway and Hobbies and Southern Colorado Slot Cars for such a great season. Sure hope we do it again next year!

The points came down to the last race - and didn't disappoint. The Championship was decided by just 3 laps!!!!

Eric Cimino was trailing Anthony Ficco by 6 laps going into the last heat and HAD to finish in front of Anthony in order to win the championship because Anthony had the tie breaker. Luckily for Eric - Anthony was in the red lane and Eric was able to gain 9 laps (white lane) in the final heat to with the Championship by 3.

Tom Hanes was steady Freddy all day long and was just waiting to pounce if the top 2 to slipped up. He finished the race and series in 3rd place. (Mr. I only go straight....liar!) 😀

Doug Cimino had hopes of jumping up and sneaking into the 3rd spot in points......but struggled with his car all day. 'Flipper the car' kept slowing him down but he has promised to return next year with new equipment and said "WATCHOUT BOYS - I'M GONNA DROP THE HAMMER NEXT YEAR!"

Rydier Jarman (Lance Jarman) and Ronald White both had pretty good days and show that we're all pretty lucky that they didn't make it to all of the shootout races, because the points race more than likely would have had different results! Point to ponder - Rydier won his first heat - that he EVER raced on the track. YIKES - watchout boys...…..their may be a new Sherriff in town next year!!!!

And with no surprise the Justin show (Justin Kill and Justin Mulder) dominated the day taking the 1st and 2nd spots. These guys definitely know their way around a slot track. Kill won the race in a borrowed car and Mulder followed him with a car that @ one point in the race...…..the rear tires wouldn't even move. With a quick pretzel bend of the chassis by race Director Lance Jarman - off Mulder went!

CALLING ALL RACERS - A CHAMPION WILL BE CROWNED

All right - here we go. The last points race in the 303 vs 719 Shootout is happening this weekend, 06.13.2020 at RJ's Raceway and Hobbies. 1 point separates 1st and 2nd place and 3rd and 4th are right behind them. Has the makings of a fun and exciting day or racing - don't miss it!

Hey Everyone - LET'S RACE!

Just talked to Big D at Southern Colorado Slot Cars and he's planning on hosting an oval race NEXT weekend (05.30.2020) at his track. Planning on running Legends, Modifieds and PROTRUCKS (4" Flexi, Hawk7 with truck body). Let me know if you're interested and I can get you details! (or hit Doug Cimino up directly).

Hey all - just wanted to post the points after this weekends Shootout hosted by Southern Colorado Slot Cars. We have a SUPER close points race between 1st and 2nd as well as 3rd and 4th. The final race will be at RJ's Raceway and Hobbies on April 4th. A reminder of the rules will be sent out shortly.....make sure you check them over please!

Hey all.......don't forget that the 303 vs. 719 Shootout Series is also going to feature a Legend (womp) race on the ovals, after the drag racing is done. It will be a total of 6 races (3 @ Southern Colorado Slot Cars and 3 @ RJ's Raceway and Hobbies). I believe there will be a points system simular to how they run the RETRO Series. More details on that to come soon. But for now........get them cars ready. 1st race is only 2 weeks away!!!!!

FYI racers........RJ's is closed tonight. We can run tomorrow night (Friday) after the bracket race if everyone wants too.

Hey racers......Get out to RJ's Raceway and Hobbies tonight to get your Modified, Legends and the new PROTRUCK racing on!!!!!! Should be a good night.

If you don't have your PROTRUCK ready for the official debut.......grab your 4" Flexi (sorry - I didn't name it - lol) and a can of paint. Lance Jarman has the bodies at the shop - so you can buy one, paint it, let it dry while we race Legends and Mods....then mount and go!

Hey all - head over to RJ's Raceway and Hobbies tonight for some oval fun with the Legends and Modifieds! Please make sure that your cars meet the following rules (prior to showing up) to speed up the Tech process.

I know that I caused some confusion on the Max wheelbase width a couple weeks ago and apologize. RJ's runs a little narrower than Southern Colorado Slot Cars with the Max being 3.125". (where @ SC2 they run 3.250")
