I can’t believe we are about to hit 10 Years of Club Congress 🥹 Shang and I have been thinking over how we want to move forward to keep our staple of the scene alive and thriving. In a city like Philly it is tough to keep a music focused party going for 1 year let alone 10. The lack of industry for electronic music, ever evolving landscape of what’s “popular” & the temptation to dip into the lowest common denominator promotional tactics runs deep but I’m super proud of what Club Congress has built, achieved, & maintained artistically over the years. It really can’t be stated enough…I stand by all of it, even the failures, just look at the years of amazing flyers by .art …I’ve even archived many of my favorite mixes from the party way back to 11/5/16 on the CLUBCAST.
Moving forward we are gonna be throwing a few less, but bigger CC’s, leaning more into production, booking the guests we love, and overall aiming to create that kind of alternative space that we aimed for way back in 2015 at that Kensington Art Gallery, LITTLE BERLIN. Lord knows we are gonna need it.
Big thank you and so much love to all the people who came out, supported, danced and helped keep our party going over all these years (not to mention a pandemic). Here’s to bigger and better in 2025, Club Congress is on hiatus until the 10 Year…
