Here’s a little-known secret: I reverse-engineered my way into performing for some of the world’s most high-profile clients, starting from the ground up. It wasn’t just about mastering my craft—it was about understanding the game better than anyone else and using every tool available before others even realized the opportunity existed.

I started with Google Ads, targeting key zip codes to get in front of the right companies. But the real magic happened with Facebook ads, back when the platform’s targeting capabilities were borderline genius. You could dive deep into someone’s profile, map out their interests, and create such specific targeting that the audience would narrow down to less than ten people. And Facebook would ask, “Do you still want to run this ad?”

Of course, I said yes. I didn’t just aim high—I aimed for the top. I found Mark Zuckerberg’s profile, studied his interests, and crafted an ad targeted directly at him. It was a move most wouldn’t even consider, but that’s where opportunity lies—where others are too afraid or too slow to act. Not long after I ran that campaign, Facebook changed its policies, requiring advertisers to target at least 1,000 people.

Was it a coincidence? Maybe. But when you know the game better than anyone else, you start to see moves others don’t. And sometimes, those moves change the game altogether. That’s the real magic.

I’ve hosted 178 events on Airbnb experiences. Today I was notified that Airbnb has decided to remove all Online Experiences as of June 20, 2024, due to a higher demand for in-person experiences post-pandemic.
