Late Night Date Artist Since humble beginnings in 2009/10, Rhys Martin has maintained regular club slots and residencies throughout Melbourne.

Rhys has spent countless hours refining his own unique style, with a characteristically sweet and sultry blend that blends disco era classics with current house heaters and big basslines. His passion lies in making the unconventional conventional, providing dance floors with exactly what they need at any given moment. His ever expanding vinyl collection has been personally selected from crates across Melbourne and scoured from far off record stores in travels to Tokyo and Vancouver.

Very happy to have been included as one of 26 Melbourne artists featured in the campaign Spotify playlist! After enduring such a tough winter during the lockdowns, we've emerged all the better for it and have slowly began to return to the things we may have previously taken for granted, with a new sense of gratitude. Here it is! My first international release on Lobster Theremin! Thank you everyone for the kind words and feedback over the last week. The track is up on soundcloud (link in comments) and on Bandcamp, with all proceeds being donated to !

This one was recorded at MESS Ltd in Melbourne, in the brief 4 days that it managed to open up between lockdowns - in hindsight I was incredibly fortunate to get a session there. All sounds come from the Deckards Dream - the synth inspired by the Blade Runner soundtrack.

Holy s**t! My most recent track 'Transience' just got picked up for release by my dream label, the UK's Lobster Theremin! Within 32 hours of sending my demo, the track was mastered and released just in time to be included on their latest compilation, available now on Bandcamp, with 100% of funds being donated to a great cause! The label is responsible for releases from so many artists I look up to, including DJ Seinfeld, Sweely, Supreems, Andy Garvey, Ross From Friends, Palms Trax etc etc - it's a true privilege, THANKYOU !!!!!!

Great news! After 4 months of being shut due to restrictions, has finally reopened - I was lucky enough to have a session on the Deckards Dream on Friday - easily my favourite synth. The polyphony is incredibly lush, and is touch sensitive, so it responds to the pressure of your fingers as you play it. I also decided to experiment with some probability based rhythms to create some nicely textured polyrhyms on top 🤓 Here's a snippet of what I recorded (unmixed)...
