I thought I'd leave this thread by a molecular biologist for those who actually do wish to understand https://twitter.com/ScienceVet2/status/1035246030500061184 Recent society has married the concept of gender to biological s*x and also determined them both to be binary; which is simply not true. I think cis folks have such a hard time with the concept of a gender not being tied to biology b/c they're so stuck on that binary. But biological s*x is FAR from binary (yes, inters*x folks are far more prevalent than you know), and unfortunately we are only taught a basic binary model in schools. This is about biological s*x, which is different from gender. But if one can walk around presuming themselves to be male b/c of outer genitalia, and all society sees and accepts them as male but on a molecular genetic level their s*x is in fact female.....perhaps you might be able to remove the correlation that you've been misinformed of between s*x & gender.
