Black Tights in a Heatwave (a poem of sorts, for when you’re sweaty & out of sorts yourself!):

Black tights in a heatwave. Turban wrapped round hot head.

Hoping makeup stays fresh and foundation doesn’t slide down my flushed face from so much sweat.

I’m within my rights, to wear black tights, but do know that in these summer heights, fake tan and a pedicure would make managing heat easier.

Although I was willing to pay, there’s not enough time in the day. So I’m grinning and bearing it, all for your benefit, keeping bare legs off display!

Sending heaps of gratitude to the creative geniuses who help me shine and sparkle ✨

Over the years, I taught myself to do my own make up, with a lot of pointers from makeup artists running MAC Pro Masterclasses.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend these at the UK flagship store in Covent Garden ✨

It was especially lucky that I learned all this before the pandemic, because I had to do my own makeup for all of those online global zoom events that I performed for via my from a corner of my bedroom that I’d set up to look like a quirky fortune teller’s cozy bo***ir 🫣😫🤦‍♀️😂

Now that we’re back to in person, onsite , I do love it when there are professional makeup artists onsite and I’m told that they’ll be doing my makeup for me 🥰 💄 💋

This particular makeup artist was very skilled with the glitter and glamour and helped me to quickly ramp up my quirky brand of mystical mystery! She was a complete ✨🤩✨ and this photo is the evidence! 📸

PS That’s A LOT of MACs 😂 and that definitely wasn’t my intention when I started writing this post but hey, I went with it anyway 😂

I have a pre-performance 'guilty pleasure' 🫢

I generally live for clean eating - organic whenever possible, no gluten, oats, or dairy, and everything made from scratch (no microwaves in my kitchen! 👩‍🍳).

But when it’s showtime? All bets are off! 😂

My ultimate pre-performance ritual? A full-fat Coke 🥤💥

Since I don’t touch caffeine or sugar when I’m not working, that perfectly balanced hit of sugar + caffeine turns into pure magic for my brain. It’s like flipping a switch - suddenly, my mental acuity is on fire! 🔥✨

Is it healthy? Not at all.

Is it effective? 1000%!

And hey, even the most intuitive minds need a little boost now and then 😉

People often ask why I always paint my nails red when I perform at events, so here’s the story! 💅

Years ago, I was hired to entertain at an event that specified “nice nails” as part of the brief.

I’d never had a manicure before. I was more of a hands-on in the garden kinda girl! 👩‍🌾

So this was totally new territory for me - and I went with a bold red, feeling a bit outside my comfort zone! 🍎

I kept looking at my nails feeling rather disembodied because I didn't expect to see my hands looking like that!

At that particular event, though, something incredible happened. My powers felt especially strong, like my intuition was dialed up to eleven ✨🌙

And since then, I’ve noticed a pattern: when my nails are painted red, my gift seems to show up even more powerfully 🌈

So, red nails have become part of my event preparation ritual and my signature style.
