What an utterly joyful experience to be both MOG AND planner for Mariam and Jacob!
Early on, we encapsulated their unique design mantra as “Bringing Troutbeck to the lake - via Brooklyn” and it guided all of our design elements which I’ll share in upcoming posts.
Firstly, Troutbeck - a lovely Hudson Valley inn nestled in enchanting mossy, ferny woodlands was the first getaway destination Mariam and Jacob shared and loved years ago and it became the touchstone of their wedding aesthetic: Late spring woodlands suggested by lush, just leafed-out white paper birch trees and ferns surrounding the dance floor and a room full of exquisite Arena’s spring flowers, layered with ferns and textural greens overflowed mossy wire baskets in their dream - lavender, white and Carolina blue with tiny bits of yellow - palette!
We’re still floating on all the beauty of our perfect three days at the lake… more details to follow 🤍

This stunner needed a private residence on my feed I could visit forever!
A great photo really doesn’t need words but I’d love to share a little backstory… When Beth and Rory said they wanted a few moments alone following their ceremony, we had an all-team collaboration to make it happen for them here in this beautiful but quite public space at The Lake House. .dougherty was undaunted and able to capture a series of the most gorgeous portraits of our stunning couple in this little jewel box of a room - with little space or time to spare. This particular image will forever be one of my all-time favorite portraits of our couples.
(Of course Mary’s image fully captures her train with the perfect amount of ‘breathing room’ but IG…)
THIS is why it’s so important to find a photographer who gets YOU, your style, your vibe, someone you can be completely yourselves even in front of his or her lens. We are blessed with many talented photographers but it’s important to do your homework and find YOUR person. Clearly, Beth , Rory and Mary were a match made in heaven 💫

Equal parts style, whimsy and welcome!
The perfect way for Beth and Rory to greet their guests at the storied Sand Bar for their Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party!
This wonderful navy polka dot embroidered slubby linen was the first design decision we made for their fall wedding weekend and it truly ‘set the stage.’ Add navy centered anemones, a soft navy velvet napkin held with a nautical ring, ‘navy wavy’ papers, and a ton of tiny votives dotting the tables… Has the Sand Bar ever looked so chic and cozy?

‘The night before…’

The day after celebrating Megan and Andy, I headed to Ireland for my first Engage!Summit! It was an unforgettable experience on so many levels... Under the leadership of the brilliant Rebecca Grinnels and Kathryn Arce, the conferences are renown for their luxurious venues, extravagant dining and entertainment (they ARE hosting the world’s best hosts!), experiences reflective of the venue’s culture and incredible ‘papers’ and curated gifting. Most importantly – to me at least - the summits attract a community of planners, photographers and videographers from all over who seek to learn from, connect with and be inspired by the top creatives, thought leaders and planners of our industry. I realized that I’d never posted about this aspect of the trip that was the most important to me…and what a creative ‘feast’ it was! Every planner I’d admired from afar, some for decades, was there to speak, share, teach, and inspire others from all different career phases. David Beahm, whose posts had kept my ‘planner soul’ nurtured through covid, creators of decades of absolutely stunning work such as Laurie Arons, Lynn Easton, Michelle Rago and Marcy Blum and pushing-the-envelope designers such as David Stark and Rishi Patel - just for example! It was a total career peak experience to listen to them share their planning experiences, speak with them and be inspired by them. Although they work on an entirely different plane, with enviable budgets, in amazing locations all over the world, it was heart-warming and affirming to hear all the ways they face parallel challenges and goals. And the experience only reinforced my own guiding mantras:
Travel is good for the creative soul.
Never stop learning – or creating. Inspiration from across the art and design worlds, curiosity, humility, intuition, collaboration, respect for and teamwork with clients and fellow vendors, transparency and just plain old (Irish?!) work ethic.

Cheers to October! And cheers to work-life balance ✨
Our ‘22 season took allll the records for us - a whopping 16 gorgeous weddings, each one unique to our couples and perfectly executed. We loved every.single.one, adored every.single.CelebratedCouple, every.single.amazing design opportunity and all the wonderful creatives we partnered with.
But oooofff- at the end of the summer I realized I hadn’t once floated in our pool - my favorite recovery for a wedding hangover (yes, they are REAL!) Most importantly, at the end of the season I hadn’t had nearly enough time with our kiddos, family and friends. Or time to explore, reflect, be inspired.
For ‘23 I was very intentional about who/where/what we took on and even carved out weeks this fall for some travel time✨It’s a bit of an big birthday trip- since in ‘24 we’re going to be celebrating three family weddings, including our twin sons’!
So we’re off to my favorite city, Paris, and points beyond TBD✨ and our stories will be more travel than wedding for a bit!
And we’ll be back in plenty of time for final details to celebrate Beth and Rory in November!

Wishing our stunning couple Maggie and Brett a Happy Happy 1st Anniversary! Maggie and Brett were surrounded by the dreamiest pastel florals from - and the most fun wedding party, (can’t you just tell?!) including Maggie’s sister Kate whose wedding we had just planned less than a year earlier!
Little did I know then that we would soon be planning our own twin sons’ weddings within a year also🤍🤍

Dinner with a view, to be sure!
We can’t wait to share images of some of our favorite-ever design and decor details from this weekend! But until then…
I’ve saved a couple of my favorite of her images of Jen and Cody’s wedding until now!
Our adventuring couple planned a nine course wedding dinner, all paired with some of their favorite wines from their travels… Their tabletop was just as considered… a soft gold ‘patina-ed’ cloth, lovely, understated white and pieces which allowed the delicate pastels of the florals (and all the plates details) to really shine. One of our favorite design elements was the soft pink linen monogrammed napkin. (When designs your custom monogram you’ll want it everywhere!)
Clearly, this was a wedding dinner that needed much more than a menu card… And truly delivered - swipe to see her four page booklet, filled with beautiful watercolors that reflected elements of the venue, the season and the Finger Lakes.
Such a lovely vendor team for a lovely ‘passion project!’ (And someday I MIGHT share the team’s BTS heroics during a couple pop up showers ;)

Cheers to tent season! In honor of our first tent of the season going up today, here’s the cutest little round sailcloth tent ever! Jen and Cody were hosting just 20 (very lucky!) guests at their intimate destination wedding, so we wanted to create a shady, cozy but luxe gathering spot everyone could enjoy during their wedding weekend. We nestled their tent into the grand old trees overlooking Seneca Lake, so that everyone could stroll through the formal gardens there and back. Gorgeous florals from , lovely, detailed linen furniture and a monogrammed bar set the stage for not just cocktail hour but after dinner sweets and drinks as the moon rose over the lake.
“Guest experience” - it’s our mantra ✨

Jen and Cody’s Save the Date featured a bird’s eye view of the lovely Geneva on the Lake gardens and inn. The invitation suite that followed featured gorgeous handmade, deckled-edge papers, both a graphic foiled and watercolor illustrated duogram and nods to both the resort’s architecture and sculpture and the couple’s love of our region’s food and wine - truly a tour de force from ✨ And what an irresistible call to a weekend in the Finger Lakes!
