I get to do some cool stuff at the like work with talented designers and artisans to make over iconic spaces. I will bury myself in printed wallpaper if I had the chance in my own home! Take a look at this transformation of the grand front hallway of the Dr. Daniel Fisher House designed by the talented John Murphy and Kalani of - it reminds of of one of my favorite restaurants in NYC Indochine.

Coming to The Taste on June 13th? You’ll be the first to take part in the unveiling of the 30 year in the making rejuvenation.

It’s hard to say what has been ‘the best’ experience yet - how to choose? Up there is the day we spent with the bushman of Central Kalahari - the oldest tribe in Africa - learning about their not so long ago nomadic way of life and traditions. The survival skills will last a lifetime- Watch out for little traps and fires around our yard - LVG was transfixed!

There is alot of moving parts when caring for 20 historic buildings - one of the rewarding parts of the job is restoration - seeing transformation right in front of your eyes. In the next few days wrapping years of preparation and fundraising wraps the exterior restoration of The Vincent House. Built-in 1672, The Vincent House as the oldest surviving residence on the island, is a living example of early homes found on Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod. Eight generations of the Vincent family lived in the house, each making their changes and bringing the house up to date with new fashions and technologies. It’s right in the backyard at the Daniel Fisher House (the big White House next to the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown). It’s worth a peek if your in the neighborhood.

A Smoke and a Song my friend Sherri Sidoti’s new book shines the lens on relationships and our interconnectivity to one another. The jellies are back! Wait isn’t it a bit early? Experts say, if stung scrape the area with a Credit card and douse the area with vinegar... the acid inactivated and atoms the venom.
