I have exciting news! I just completed a brand refresh! (aka still working on with never-ending improvements, adds, tweaks, etc.) Vitae Weddings is now Stacie McChesney Photography!

It's like I just got the most incredible makeover and I feel like a million bucks!

Friends, I truly love what I do. It's been 14 years since I photographed my first wedding and I was hooked right from the start. I'm so grateful to all my couples for choosing me to photograph such an incredible moment in their lives. I love each and every one of you.

I can't wait for these two to get married tomorrow at ! I'm headed to their rehearsal dinner tonight at . I can't think of a better way to start the weekend's festivities.These are some of my favorite moments from Maggie and Alex's portrait session. They are fun loving and easy to laugh, but can also turn on the heat! They have a soulful kind of love that was such a pleasure to photograph.

Veil? or no veil? Over the last 12 years of photographing weddings I'd say it's pretty evenly split between brides that choose to have a veil and those that do not. It comes down to personal preference, your style...and your photos.These are some of my favorite photos involving veils. I didn't wear one for my wedding in 2014, but if I'd seen inspiration photos like these, I may have made a different choice.

Happy anniversary to these two lovelies!

A year ago it was an ice cold day in Dripping Springs. They braved the chill for their outdoor ceremony and portraits, then warmed up in the reception hall with heartfelt toasts and a dance floor that never let up.

The sweetest maternity session in Malibu for Meredith and Max. We revisited where they were married and took advantage of the super romantic sunset light. The light in California just can’t be beat.

I love these in between moments. They may not be perfect, but there is something so perfect about them. Heera was adjusting a detail on Nithin’s suit and I just loved that loving attention to detail this photo conveyed. Also, The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco is the most incredible background for any shoot. I didn’t go there often when I lived there, but it sure is pretty.

I was so thrilled to photograph this celebration for Hannah and Caleb. It was a long time coming.

After initially reaching out to me in November 2019 for their April 2020 wedding, I photographed their engagement session and then the pandemic hit. They lucked out in having a courthouse ceremony before it shut down and in the two years since they welcomed a beautiful baby boy - which I also had the pleasure to photograph after he was born.

Fast forward to April 2022 and they were finally able to gather some of their closest family and friends for an intimate celebration of their love and the family they are building together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My favorite memories of their wedding day include the roast their family and friends lovingly gave them in their toasts and finding out that they created their last name together to symbolize the family they are building and the warmth and welcoming nature they bring to those around them.
