Remembering K + S’s beautiful reception at The Belevedere in Baltimore. This grand, elegant space was the perfect backdrop for their wedding reception. We loved the orchids, the ivory roses, the lush greens and the flickering candles throughout. But we really loved the sweetheart table and the gorgeous cake behind it.
The real MVPs were the vendor teams who brought this fairy tale to life!

We are just coming up for air after the busiest May in our history. In years past, May had us working extremely long hours and despite our best efforts, it was stressful. This year was different. We were prepared, we were fully staffed, and we learned better methods and processes. We owe thanks to for the weeklong workshop in March, for the Business tier group of floral professionals that are so generous, for the podcasts that we listen to on repeat, and who has demystified the bouquet making process. As we roll into summer weddings, we recognize the team who does all the things all the time! We are so grateful!

Here’s a look at our completely compostable arrangement. We created armature out of willow boughs by shaping them into spheres tied with twine. We filled the orb with dried eucalyptus and spanish moss and used damp sheet moss to hold in the moisture. After soaking the orb, we designed the arrangement so that it could be placed on a vessel or a shallow dish. With the exception of the vessel, it is fully compostable/. We will continue to explore more sustainable floristry in our commitment to minimizing our environmental impact.

Only one of the many pieces we designed this wek studio. Her Flower Freelance Intensive is not to be missed. This was an investment in our business that will be paying dividends for years to come. An incredible series of floral superstars ( ) sharpened existing skills, taught us new techinques, and instructed us in everything from charming boutonnieres to a full-fledged flower environment. We are left with new ideas, plenty of inspiration and a bouquet of new flower friends!

The color palette, the instruction, the venue, the fellow flower lovers, the catered lunches - - - it’s all amazing. Top tier instruction in a collaborative setting is almost more than we could hope for. Thanks for raising the bar and setting the standard!

On this International Women’s Day, a shout out to the women of the Annapolis Events team is due. We are a women-owned and a women-powered company; but more than that, we are all in our second - or third - act. We have one hundred-plus collective years in the fields of education, design, healthcare, administration. And that does not include the years of childraising, homemaking, caregiving, and community building accomplished by these women. Annapolis Events is more than an event planning and floral design studio, it’s a working lab that is showcasing the relevance, creativity, and contributions of women who are relishing their second acts. It is a showcase for women who find fulfillment in helping others, who believe in lifelong learning, and who are unafraid to face unexpected challenges. Here’s to strong women. May we know them, may we raise them, may we be them!
