Walking Wenceslas

In the current economic climate, with rising food costs, increasing heating and electricity bills, there are many people struggling to heat their home and feed their families.

SSOLP member Euan Ross is raising money for local food banks at this very difficult period by offering prints of Walking Wenceslas for a limited time for only £15 plus postage, with all profits being donated to charity.

Thank you to everyone who visited the exhibition on the 'open day'... your comments were greatly appreciated and to hear many people commenting on the variety is the best thing I could have heard... The Society of Scottish Landscape Photographers are proud to be hosting their first 'live' exhibition since the pandemic. The event will be held at The Lime Tree An Ealdhain Gallery in Fort William, Scotland.

Featuring work from around 25 photographers the exhibition showcases the best fine art photography that the group has to offer. Displaying a vast array of styles ranging from traditional landscapes to more creative views of the landscape within, the exhibition promises to cater for every taste, and all works will be for sale.

Many of the photographers featured are national/international award-winners and published photographers therefore the standard of work is guaranteed to be high. An opening event will be held on Saturday 6th of August 2022 from 1pm-4pm where refreshments will be served.

The event is sponsored by Kase Filters and at the opening event two Kase UK Partners will be showcasing some of the latest award-winning filter products, giving interested participants the opportunity to get hands-on with the equipment and ask any questions. These are exciting times for the group and they hope that you can come and join them at this unique event!

DETAILS: Venue: The Lime Tree An Ealdhain Gallery, Achintore Road, Fort William, Scotland. Opening event: Saturday 6th of August, 2022 from 1pm-4pm. Scottish Nature Photography Awards - Celebrating nature, wildlife and landscape photography in Scotland

It been an unusual start to this year for the Society but I assure you we are still here and still kicking.

I have great pleasure in giving a couple of announcements ... Firstly we are proud to announce 2 Exhibitions for this year (so far) and these will be Fort William in August and Edinburgh in November. We will also have digital version running concurrently for those not in the country or unable to attend.

Also for this year we are so very proud to announce that we will be partnered with Kase Filters UK ... As photographers we understand the vital part that filters play in our work and in addition to that Kase are a forward thinking company who strive to be the best and in all honesty are nice guys doing it right, which you don't always find in business.

A beautiful image of a Stormy Harris from Chris Lauder Photography

A November storm at Bagh Steinighidh, Harris. Such a great little beach with a great variety of foreground interest.

I will be running a workshop on Harris in early November.
This incredible location will act as our backdrop for six days of photography.

The island is beautiful, awe inspiring and remote. Miles of sandy beaches and rugged coastline mix with the ever changing weather, creating moody skies and dramatic light over the hills and ocean.

I will help you develop your own creative vision and style. To do that we will cover everything from choosing the best locations and coping with the weather, to composition, use of filters and processing of your images.

We will visit the pristine white beaches of Luskentyre and Scarista to name but a few on Harris, along with the derelict croft houses across the island (from the outside), cliffs and sea stacks of Lewis.
