But here’s the truth: ticket sales alone aren’t enough to maintain our 100-year-old, 40,000-square-foot historic complex. Every repair, every coat of paint, and every window replaced relies on the generosity of donors who believe in preserving this cultural treasure.
We need your help to continue this work. By making a year-end gift, you’re not just helping with upkeep—you’re keeping history alive and ensuring future generations can enjoy all the Liberty has to offer.
📅 Give before December 31 to make your impact!

Hippodrome Theatre Baltimore
Last week, we had the opportunity to tour the legendary Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore, a historic gem with roots dating back to 1914. Originally designed by Thomas Lamb as a grand movie palace and vaudeville house, the Hippodrome hosted iconic performers like Bob Hope, Frank Sinatra, and the Andrews Sisters. Through the decades, it became a cultural hub, showcasing movies and live entertainment, with a reputation as one of the finest vaudeville venues in the country.
After closing in 1990, the Hippodrome was reborn in 2004 as part of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. The restoration combined the original theatre with three historic buildings to create a state-of-the-art venue. Today, it shines brighter than ever, hosting touring Broadway productions, music, dance, comedy, and more. Touring this historic treasure was a powerful reminder of how theatres like the Hippodrome preserve history while inspiring future generations of performers and audiences. #leagueofhistoricamericantheatres
