12 Pubs of Christmas - Chicago Edition Based on an ancient Irish tradition, the 12 pubs of Christmas is as old as Christ himself. When the whistle sounds it’s on to the next one. Go Bears.

Legend has it the three wise men hit 12 taverns of Bethlehem on their way to see the newly born Jesus and with that the pub crawl was born. In 2010, over a few pints at the local pub in Wicker Park, an Irish man, Conor Casey began explaining this tradition to local a Chicago native known simply as bil. Conor and bil immediately decided to bring the tradition to Wicker Park and from there the event

was born. Then the bhoys kept drinking until a inebriated bil, after urinating on himself and trying to play some Debbie Gibson on the jukebox, had to be forcibly removed from the bar while screaming "they should have neva hav given yo ******* money!". Conor, in true 12 pubs fashion, stayed on and finished both their drinks. Rules are simple, 12 pubs, half hour and minimum of one drink in each establishment. The 1st Annual 12 Pubs of Christmas - Chicago Edition took place Saturday December 11th, 2010. It was a massive success, and 2011 already promises to be even bigger and better so don't miss it. Stay tuned, stay thirsty and God speed my friends.
