CHOOSING A COLOUR THEME OR PALETTE for your wedding can be overwhelming. Fret not! I’ve got five hot tips to consider when deciding on a palette to enhance your day.

✨ LOOK TO YOUR VENUE many couples don’t consider that their venue choice plays a huge role in how their own aesthetic comes to life. To ensure a complete and cohesive atmosphere use the venues own design aesthetic and colour palette to reflect and complement your own vision rather than compete or clash.

✨ STYLE & ATMOSPHERE you wish to create, should be reflected on. A timeless, classic theme - a soft neutral tones work best. A more regal and refined look, then choose deep, rich and dark jewelled tones. Or wanting a more relaxed, playful vibe - choose bright playful colours.

✨ CONSIDER THE SEASON While you don’t have to choose a palette based on the season, you may choose colours that convey a seasonal feel by using colours found in the natural environment at that particular time of year.

✨ CONSIDER THE FLOW OF COLOUR - ensure a cohesive flow throughout. From gowns, flowers, table top details and stationery, allow colours to complement and flow by using hues and shades of one or two dominant colour.

✨ BALANCE - choose shades from one colour group then opt for pops of colour with accenting hues and shades of a complimentary colours. This creates a richer, more elevated celebration.

DON’T OVERTHINK best advice I can give is to choose a palette that best represents and reflects your unique sense of style and personality. Choose colours that will best execute the mood, and atmosphere you wish to create.

Our hearts always swell at good old fashioned love stories 🤍 Dennis & Mladen met during the height of the pandemic, their modern love story is one for the ages. “While the world was falling apart, we were falling in love” …. SWOON!

Surrounded by their most dearest, Mladen & Dennis’ joyous wedding day was filled with laughter, love, dancing, incredible food in the most beautiful setting, with gorgeous florals. Exactly what these love birds were dreaming of for their wedding day!

When DREAMS come to life!!!

Lisa messaged this morning “my Pinterest board come to life! Couldn’t have been more perfect!” And honestly, taking time to get to know a couple, their style, their tastes and personalities and refining their vision to bring it all to life on their wedding day is one of my favourite parts of the planning journey and our design process.

While I never set out to recreate our couples Pinterest boards and inspirational images, I use them more as a guide, direction, and over all styling theme. I always strive to create an event that unique to our couples, exceeds their expectations and wildest imaginations.

Designing Lisa and Desmond’s wedding was a pure joy and an absolute dream. L & D couldn’t have been anymore sweeter, kinder and of course gorgeous. Lisa’s vision was ethereal, truly dreamy. The florals stunning with floating clouds of baby’s breath, baby’s breath garlands for miles and romantic candle light were one of the highlights of our season!

Ready to make your wedding unforgettable? A wedding that truly speaks to you, your personalities and sense of style.

SAVE these three design tips to create a wedding day that is a true style icon!

🪩 Start with your COLOUR palette. We started with various hues of pinks, then added an unexpected tones of blue and yellows for a warm and modern vibe.

🪩 Then add TEXTURES. We incorporated velvets through chairs and linen. Added neon and disco mirror details, and bold patterned dinnerware for the perfect contrast.

🪩 Finally, we added a STATEMENT showstopper wall and suspended ceiling. Pieces of contemporary and neon art for a bit of playfulness, that anchored our vision and created atmosphere.

We were ready to party at the 2023 tasting evening!

Every one of our couples style is so unique! So when a couples come together to create their dream weddings - it’s all about ensuring their style and personalities are represented.

While I do have my own soft and luxurious garden design style, my main focus is on what our couples are drawn to, what inspires them and help them elevate their vision. I don’t pretend to believe that our design style is for everyone, so I ensure that every event we design is true to my couple’s personalities and style.

The first step of our design journey is to get to know our couples. Our questionnaire discovers that inspires them, their style, reflecting on the vibe for their day, creating colour clarity, florals and design style, finishing touch preferences and so much more.

Weddings are expensive ~ especially your wedding flowers. Create a realistic budget, prioritizing your wedding flowers and decor from the start. This ensures you don’t have to make major budget cuts that will affect your vision and most importantly needs.

✨ NOT PRIORITIZING YOUR WEDDING FLORIST Top vendors are often booked a year in advance. Booking your florist at the beginning of your planning journey will not only secure your top florist, also allow you to begin to curate your design, colour palette and aesthetic to continue your planning journey.

✨ IGNORING BACK UP PLANS FOR OUTDOOR WEDDINGS
Allow your wedding day to flow seamlessly with a backup plan for your outdoor wedding. Weather is unpredictable, always having a Plan B can will save your wedding day!

✨ NOT VETTING YOUR FLORIST
Do your research!! Read reviews, get recommendations and take time to visit your florists website, socials to understand their style, minimums and services offered. Ask questions ~ hidden fees, timelines, additional services and flexibility can make or break your budget.

✨ FORGETTING ABOUT YOUR GUEST LIST
Your guest count impacts everything. From the venue, catering, florals, rentals and decor. Finalize it early to avoid disappointment and last minute surprises and unplanned costs.

✨ COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR VENDORS
Clear communication is everything! Share mood boards, vision, budgetary expectations, schedules, expectations and other vendors you’ve already hired to help bring your day to life.

Talk about a clean modern chic 🫶 mood board.

Sara and Bryce dreamed of a modern aesthetic with a dramatic backdrop that created a statement within the Pavilion at and could transition from ceremony to reception seamlessly.

Continuing with the white palette that is throughout the space, statement making green and a soft accent in n**e, Sara and Bryce’s wedding was a dream. With SGD heading the design plan and curating their florals, every detail was perfect 🤩

PLANNING a wedding while juggling our busy personal and work lives can leave many overwhelmed.

In our first meeting with couples we learn that they have already addressed smaller items and vendors in their planning to do list. While flowers are so are a priority to them, they have been putting off choosing their flowers and decor as they feel overwhelmed by the options and possibilities.

It isn’t unusual that couples have booked their photographers, band, cake, decor companies by the time they meet with us. While some planning sites recommend this planning process, we beg to differ!

Your wedding flowers and decor is truly the only way for a couple to set the tone, create a mood, set atmosphere and bring their vision to life. Determining and deciding on palette and aesthetic early on can help guide your choices and decision making for all the other components of your wedding day.

Our main goal is to help alleviate stress and help guide you through your planning journey and your decision making process.
