These might be my new favorite flowers to work with. So many combinations that look beautiful.

Living art - Ikebana - The art of Japanese flower arranging. Art therapy for arthritis.

Stargazer lilies, white roses, deep pink carnations, some long green leaves, and some dark green eight pointed lily leaves have made my heart a little lighter today. This arrangement is on my desk at home.

In my happy spot being my derpy self.

The best thing I ever did when I realized I was heading towards being housebound was listen to my mom and start my indoor garden.

Now I have a tiny outdoor garden on my patio and I'm thrilled!

Stuck at home? Start some new hobbies and grow with it.

"All flowers are beautiful in their own way."

I wasn't happy with how this turned out, but it's good to show failures and successes, right?

This is an example that didn't meet the cut or my seal of approval.

Moving on to the next arrangement!

PERSPECTIVE is a valuable lesson to keep in mind no matter what you are doing.

Being able to see different viewpoints allows us to learn and grow. 'Never judge a book by its cover' and always remember you can see something in many different ways.

Apply that lesson to life and you'll hit a home run every time.

SAME ARRANGEMENT: Three different views.

🌿💚🌿 Giving the gift of life. 🌿💚🌿

My medical bills are expensive and I never have much money to spend on anything else but medications.

Last year, I started making homemade bookmarks and gifting plants to the people who mean the most to me.

I took these to our annual expat Christmas brunch and they looked so pretty on our table.

We all need a bright spot in our days.

Still haven't found my kenzans. (Flower spikes) Everything was a balancing act this winter.

I'm itching to get back to some formal ikebana arrangements with cherry blossom season just around the corner.

I've always wanted a purple shamrock! It's my plant!

Oxalis Triangularis grows in my building lobby but I've never asked if I can have some. I have looked for this at the market and I've never seen them.

I mentioned it to my friend Shane, King of All Orchids and Planted Things, and he dug some up from somewhere, brought it home, turned it into this gorgeous plant and brought it to me for Christmas!

The gift of green life is truly a wonderful gift. I have named her Shanette after her namesake.

Dany approves but beware these plants are highly toxic to cats. (Not that she is tempted.)

I finally got to the flower market only to get home and find out that my kenzans have disappeared. 😭

No kenzan in this arrangement.

I love how this one turned out, but I have loads of other flowers and might have to get creative considering I have no way to spike them.

This is a balancing technique with some wood and pinecones added for a little extra oomph.

Eucalyptus, crysanthemum, and Star of Bethleham flower aka Ornithogalum.

Happy Holidays from Taiwan!
