Previously 'North Wales Promotions', operate across Wales to help to support local music, local talent, and local performers of every genre and type, expand their potential. We are run jointly by two people living in North Wales, who are passionate about their local music, arts, and events scene and who wanted to put their promotion and design skills together to help promote the local scene in Nor

*Call out for a band* 🙏🏼
Tal y Sarn Farm care and therapy, are having a fundraising day 27th July 2024. 3pm - 7pm. They would love if a band would be willing to play the event to help raise some much needed funds 🐐🐰🐴🐓🦆.. ... ... ...
As a CIC we are now applying for funding and need a few events in order to carry on our service supplying animal-based therapeutic interventions for people with anxiety, neurodiversity, mental or other health problems. The animals alone cost quite a bit to keep.

We are also starting to use the farm for people in both villages who have various problems and need somewhere they can go to just 'be' - a safe, quiet place where they can read, meet a friend, do some gardening, help with the animals, do a jigsaw and so on. This will be a free area - drinks and snacks will be provided. We have a couple of people already who are coming down.

We also have volunteers who are neurodiverse and the funds help to pay Hayley for her time with them. We have a few teenagers who have anxieties and don't go to school - they come and spend time with the animals, have agility sessions using our PAT dog. Our aim with them is to increase their confidence - they get to choose what they would like to do, whether it be building a castle for the rabbits, or feeding the goats, enrichment for the chickens, etc.

Without funding we can't offer these as 'free' services which would then make coming here on a regular basis prohibitive for many of them.

I would be grateful if you could put the word out to see if anyone would be willing to give some time or, if not, what their fee would be. There will be a food and craft fair going on at the same time - music would enhance the event I think and make it a bit different. Hopefully some of the people who use the farm will also be here to lend a hand - we are encouraging them to join in as it makes it 'their place'.

Who is HighVoltage Queen?

Years ago, that was my Facebook name and I roamed around social media promoting live music events.

Check out 'Live Music Events in and around Bangor, North Wales', that was the start. Set up by a friend of mine because he got fed up of finding out about good gigs, after the fact. I became admin and took on the task of sharing events, promoting the group and making sure people stuck to the page rules. Everyone needs a hobby.

I joined the #CuriadBangorPulse festival committee. Curiad, is a 5 night, small venue community event in Bangor. The festival needed social media promotion and I had some experience in this. I went to all the gigs and had a camera, so took some pictures. I even assisted on stage and can now set up the PA and equipment for a small band, even put up a small drum kit. Hobbies are good!

I do not consider myself a photographer, although I have been paid for my photos. I like taking candid pictures when I have the nerve to do so but some gigs I take my camera and never get it out. It's intrusive and draws attention. It's very hard to get candid shots if your subject is aware of you and leering in your lens.

One day, I went to an outdoor weekend festival with my camera. Took some fun snaps, practising. Then, as I always do, I shared the photos freely with the festival organisers. To my surprise they not only invited me to come back the following year but recommended me as photographer to another festival. I went along, took lots of photos and had a ball. Hobbies are fun xXx
