Six. Whole. Years. ✨💍
Six years of tearful first looks, champagne pops, packed weekends, last-minute weather plans, seating chart puzzles, timeline tweaks, full inboxes and dance floor moments that never fail to make me emotional. Six years of building something that started with a vision and a laptop, and turned into a career that not only lights me up, but allows me to support my family and build a life we’re proud of.
In 2019, I launched Events by Ayla with a whole lot of passion and a bold belief that I could build something meaningful…not just for me, but for my family and every couple who trusted me to bring their wedding day to life. I had no idea just how much this little business would grow - not just in size, but in purpose.
Since then, I’ve had the honor of working with 75+ amazing couples, designing weddings that feel deeply personal, wildly fun, and totally unforgettable… all while raising my kids at home. Squeezing in work (and a double shot espresso) before they wake up, writing timelines during naptime, answering emails between sports practices, and building design decks after bedtime. Running a full-time business in part-time hours means every minute counts. It’s taken structure, boundaries, and a lot of color-coded calendars to say the least, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Countless times, my clients have mentioned they forget I even have kids (LOL) because I’m consistently prompt with communication, meet every deadline, and always deliver the high-level experience they deserve. And through it all, I’m showing my boys in real-time what it looks like to work hard, dream big, and pour your heart into what you love. And the fact that I get to keep doing this? Not lost on me for a second.
To every couple who said “yes” to me, to every vendor who’s continually referred me, and to every person who’s reminded me that I was made for this, thank you 🫶🏼
Thank you to each one of my couples who have trusted me with one of the most important days of your life…and that is a gift I’ll never take lightly. Just know that you are part of my story, too.
Here’s to year six, lit and ready 🎂 xx
