Yesterday I celebrated a half a decade (5 years!!) 🤯 since I launched Events by Ayla! What started as humble vision has blossomed into a full blown career that is so incredibly fulfilling + provides so many things to not only myself, but my family + over 45 couples I’ve had the opportunity + honor of working with since 2019!

EBA was not born overnight - I did not just wake up one morning + decide impulsively to start this thing on a whim. I am a born planner, tried and true - ever since I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to own my own business + quite literally planned my life around wanting a career + life in event planning. From day one when I launched EBA, I was (and continue to be) very intentional with every aspect of my business. The amount of pride I put into every single interaction, conversation, client meeting, email, design board, my website + social media is thoughtfully curated. Every little detail is purposeful + filled with the personal touch of ME! 🩷💫

Balancing the demands of being a wedding planner + a full-time mom has been both challenging + rewarding. Juggling client meetings, vendor communication + wedding logistics with school runs, soccer / t-ball / gymnastic practices + bedtime stories requires a delicate dance of time management + prioritization - but I wouldn’t have it any other way! Being able to show my boys the importance of hard work, dedication + pursuing your passions is a gift that I do not take lightly 🤹🏼‍♀️

One of the greatest joys of my career is seeing my passion for creating magical weddings inspire my kids. My oldest son (who is almost 6) has already expressed his excitement about helping me with weddings when he gets older, which serves as a daily reminder that I am not only building a successful business but also building a legacy of love + inspiration within my boys. To all the moms out there who are chasing their dreams while simultaneously raising a family, I salute you! Truly, it mommin’ ain’t easy! 🫶🏼

After establishing a successful wedding planning business over the past 5 years, I’ve developed a true appreciation for the dedication + passion that goes into creating unique + unforgettable moments for each couple of mine!

Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed the incredible talent within the wedding industry - however, I’ve also encountered missed opportunities among fellow wedding professionals. Building on this experience, I’m expanding my services to include wedding business coaching / mentorship to help empower others in the wedding industry!

My mission is to provide personalized guidance + support through one-on-one mentorship, business coaching + internships. With customized coaching, the right tools + resources, you can build + maintain the wedding business you’ve always imagined!👩🏼‍💻☎️

Am I leaving my job as one of the top Wedding Planners in Alaska? Absolutely NOT 😉 Being a wedding planner truly fuels my soul + working with amazing couples is one of my greatest passions in life! Happy Anniversary to my sweetie pie hubby ✨🌤️💘🦋 Today we are celebrating 8 years of marriage + 12 years together!

This season of life is extra extra busy these days - he’s working nearly 60 hours a week as a fulltime Foreman at MTA + I’m running a full blown business while simultaneously staying home with all 3 of our kids (who are all 5 years old + under btw 😶) BUT I am so incredibly grateful I get to do life together with this man! ❤️💍 love you babe, xx

I saw this marriage advice from 1886 that really resonated with me + wanted to share:

“Learn the wisdom of compromise, for it is better to bend a little than to break. Believe the best rather than the worst; people have a way of living up or down to your opinion of them. Remember that true friendship is the basis for any lasting relationship. The person you choose to marry is deserving of the courtesies and kindness you bestow on your friends. Please hand this down to your children and your children’s children for the more things change the more they are the same.” 🫶🏼

During a final planning meeting with one my full service couples last week, my bride shared something that really touched my heart: She said that I truly have one of the most special jobs (which I couldn’t agree more) BUT what she went on to say really got me: I am basically the last person to see the bride for the final time before she walks down the aisle + changes her last name / officially becomes a wife! 🥲💍

Wow, what an absolute honor it is that I am privileged to be the one who does that final “send off” with my bride that I walked alongside planning their wedding for months leading up to that very moment. I love playing such a special role in my couple’s love story, their wedding planning experience + wedding day itself!

To all my brides getting married this summer: I not can’t WAIT for that extra special moment when I get to send you off to walk down the aisle to your new hubby 🥹💘

Tuesday // Open all your decor as soon as it comes in the mail! 📬

I always tell my brides to open items they order online right when it arrives for a few reasons:

📦 Ensure it’s the right product — believe it or not, even big companies like Amazon or Etsy ship the wrong items

📦 Guarantee elements aren’t broken — especially glass vases, glass frames, large candles, etc.

📦 Check sizing — cross reference candle sizing with vases you ordered to make certain candles aren’t too tall / aren’t too wide to fit into vases, along with frame sizes + signs you’re printing

📦 Organize each box into categories + label them to confirm you received every item you purchased — ceremony decor, cocktail hour decor, reception decor, signs, etc. This also makes set up so much more efficient + saves an insane amount of time!

📦 Make sure name cards are 100% correct + organize them in order by table (usually I will have my brides send them directly to me so I can do this)

Take it from a pro: Don’t wait until the week of your wedding + ESPECIALLY not the morning of your wedding to open boxes of decor! 📋✔️

We meticulously crafted the design for their reception + ceremony space, ensuring each + every single detail / element on their wedding day flowed seamlessly + logistically.
