That's a wrap! What a year 2021 has been…
I personally couldn't have got through it without some of the most amazing people by my side! I struggled at the beginning of the year with business issues and the amount of filming that was coming my way. I walked that line on my own and had to troubleshoot and manage new teams to get the results my clients expected.
Since May, along with a helping hand from Liam, Madeleine and Richard, I have attended 80 weddings - that's over 3 years of weddings squeezed into 7 months. It’s been the hardest 7 months of my life. It has challenged me, broken me, uplifted me and empowered me. I have grown to understand that somethings can't be controlled, that knowing when to walk away is hard but that walking away is harder. I’m closing the door on 2021 with pride in my decisions, honesty in my business and determination in my way forward. I will always see the positive in the people around me and always give my all to them. And I’m grateful for those that see positivity in me.
My mam has always said, 'be nice to those you meet on the way up because you might meet them again on the way back down'.
To my couples - the bedrock of all I have stood for this year - you are without a doubt the best thing that has come from 2021! Thank you for your patience while I single-handedly create your wedding films.
On a final and personal note to my wife...
I couldn't have managed this journey without you. You have been so so so much more than a wife in 2021! You have been my lawyer, my carer, my sounding board, my best friend, my rock, my partner and most importantly my shoulder to cry on. The effort you have put into this year for me and my business has been immense. You have missed so many moments this year because of the work I had to undertake. Our wedding anniversary, birthdays, family events, but you took it all in your stride and I can never say thank you enough for that.
2022 starts tomorrow and with it brings a new set of challenges, struggles and testing moments. It will also bring joy, success and growth.
Never be afraid to look back at your past - it has shaped the way to your future.
Signing out,
Nick
