Vellum wraps are such a beautiful way to upgrade your invitation suite and to captivate the recipient ✨ Traditionally, a vellum wrap was used to prevent ink from smearing off during the mailing process. Yes, it’s happening again. Another postage rate increase! And this time, it’s pretty significant.
You know when you send a simple letter or card in the mail and it takes $0.68 to mail? Well that cost is going up 5 (‼️) cents. Yup, I said FIVE.
What does this mean for wedding invitations? Well, let’s break it down.
Save the Dates that I send out typically just take a single Forever stamp. If you already have your Forever stamps, they will always be current, so don’t worry! When the rate changes, your stamps will still be worth the new rate.
For invitations, most of the time my client’s invitations incur the additional ounce + the non-machinable surcharge. The non-machinable surcharge is what lets me hand cancel your beautiful invitations for you so that they don’t go through the big sorting machines at the post office. This is the best way to avoid ugly marks and ripped envelopes, and helps your invitations arrive as intended to your guests. This cost per envelope is will now be changing from $1.32 to $1.47 per envelope. 😫
WHAT DO YOU DO NOW? Well, if we’re ordering postage and mailing your invitations before July 14, 2024, then we’re fine! If your timeline that we’ve put together tells us that we’re close to, or after, that date, I suggest that we order your postage before the rate increase takes effect. Again, your Forever stamps will always be current, so it makes sense to go ahead and order them. At the very least we can save some money on your postage for your RSVP envelopes!
If you’re a current client of mine and would like to go ahead and order postage prior to the rate increase, please send me an email or a DM and we’ll make it happen! The good news is that we have some time, so there’s no need to panic! 🙃

For their save the date, we used an illustration of the church that was painted by a friend of the family. It added a special touch and was perfect by itself, but we chose to take it up a notch by adding lots of hydrangeas and a fun photo on the back. Of course, we had to include their sweet doggo in the crest, too!
I plan on getting their full suite photographed very soon, so stay tuned!

I love doggos (especially my almost-15-year-old pup, Chevy), the beach, traveling, wine, cocktails, good food, and cooking. I’m married to the amazing (go see him for all your chiropractic needs! 😘), and this picture by was taken at our engagement party last August. Ohhh how time flies!!
Fun fact: I live in Charlotte, NC, but 95% of my clients are outside of North Carolina! I’ve worked with couples from California, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina, Washington DC, Maine, Hawaii…My goal is to work with couples in every state!

Victoria and Ryan are married!! So stinkin’ excited for them! They were so easy and fun to work with and wanted to include lots of special details in their invitations. Getting married at , we of course had to incorporate the bridge and the Blue Ridge Mountains (duh!), but also special things like Vietnamese lanterns, a watercolor map (not pictured), and a cute bumble bee (they met on Bumble!) 🐝 what’s your favorite part of their suite?

Friendly reminder that USPS rates are increasing (yes, again) on July 9th! If you’ve already purchased Forever stamps or stamps that don’t have a specific amount printed on them (1 cent, 5 cents, etc.), don’t worry. Those will always be worth the current rate!

Invitation specifics: invitation in a pocket folder, wrapped with handmade wildflower paper and paired with a matching outer envelope. The details card had their sweet pup at the top, and we designed a custom monogram that incorporated their love of fly fishing for the invitation. The RSVP card has a fishing line being cast around the wording. The postage (not pictured here) included a mix of vintage fishing flies + mountain flora + wildlife + blueberry stamps.

Happiest of wedding days to Carolyn and Austin!! I hope their day is everything they ever dreamed of and more ❤️🍾
Their invitation suite was one of my favorites!! I know, I know. I say that about all of them…but this might actually take the cake! We did two-color letterpress printing: a neutral text with blind pressed floral line drawings. That, combined with the double-thick cotton paper, was a dream! The mist main envelope and sage reply envelope added color, but in a subtle way. It was all tied together with a gold foil belly band. This photo is just a mock-up, but once I have photos back I will 100% be posting them!!
My #1 goal with your invitations is to make them meaningful. That could mean different things to different people! Some may say a custom crest with their monogram and their sweet pup is meaningful, and others would say including details from their wedding venue is meaningful. One of Sarah and Connor’s meaningful details was the lilacs that were in her bouquet the weekend they got engaged. So, we designed their full suite around lilacs! Tell me, what is a detail that you’d include in your suite that’s full of meaning to you?? I’d love to hear from you!!
