wow, we can't believe the day of PRIDE at Illinois Art Station has finally arrived!🌈🌈🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️✨✨🎸🎸to celebrate, let's shout out not one, but TWO of the great artists we're going to be seeing today!

Mangles Music is so excited to take the stage at Gender Envy Pride! Accompanying our vocalist we have the incredible on drums and the brilliant Caleb on bass! They are stoked to cover lots of q***r anthems and debut original songs alongside the regular repertoire.

sockmuseum is a one man band hailing from the chicago suburbs and going to school for Publishing Studies in Normal. sockmuseum aka Ash sings songs about the wonders of breakfast foods alongside other silly topics! they are so excited to be performing their debut show at Gender Envy Pride! aside from music, Ash is a zinemaker and writer! find their music on https://sockmuseum.bandcamp.com and sockmuseum on streaming platforms!

✨💕we love the Peoria Guild of Black Artists!💕✨

thank you so, so much to the Peoria Guild of Black Artists for partnering with us to bring PRIDE at the Illinois Art Station to life! we are beyond excited to be featuring work by Alexander Martin & Krystopher A. Dudley Brown which will be exhibited during the event!

here's a little more info about these two brilliant artists:

Krystopher A. Dudley Brown says on his work, "Hello, I'm Krystopher A. Dudley Brown, a black q***r transmasc man. I am happily married and enjoying my ever growing family. I have been an artist for as long as I can remember.'

I create most of my work from recycled items or "trash" to promote recycling and because I'm also generally without a fund for it. I want to teach kids and adults everywhere that creating doesn't have to depend on money and expensive materials to be great."

Alexander Martin(She/Her) is a Black and Trans Artist and performer working out of Peoria, IL. Her practice includes visual art, performance, drag, advocacy, education, and community engagement. Her work centers on celebrating, documenting, and highlighting the intersections of her identity. She has had her work exhibited across the states and has done artist residencies in both the U.S. and in the U.K. She is a former state title holder for the drag pageantry system Miss Gay USofA and has performed all across the U.S. In 2022 she was featured in the PBS short film festival for her collaborative documentary with filmmaker Allison Walsh, The Daily Aesthetics of Alexander Martin. She is a founding and board member of the Peoria Guild of Black Artists , a co-founder of Project 1612 , and is involved in several community based efforts.

😷🏳️‍🌈💖 mask up! thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Covid Safe CU for the donation of 500 masks to our event!!! 😷🏳️‍🌈💖

✨💕🎸🌈PRIDE at IL ART STATION🌈🎸💕✨ is a mask encouraged event! we want to make sure all feel welcome in our space. PRIDE is for all, including those immunocompromised, and by wearing masks indoors we can ensure ALL our friends can safely participate.

Covid Safe CU is a social and organizing group of disabled individuals and their allies with the goal of supporting each other and their community by means of education on the spread and long term effects of Covid-19. They recently received 36k 3M KN95 masks from a national crowdfunding effort and are distributing them throughout Champaign-Urbana, as well as surrounding cities and through aligned groups.

we are beyond excited to have Emmett Isabel Osorio gracing the stage at ✨💕🎸🌈PRIDE at IL ART STATION🌈🎸💕✨!!! they are truly an artistic force. here's a little bit more about them:

Emmett Isabel Osorio (they/them) has been brought to life by the sequoia, by the breeze, by the safety of birdsong. Raised from the soil by artists and poets in California, Texas, Illinois, and beyond - Isabel sings from their bones that home is right where we are. Izzy's work facilitates the sonic magic that allows the heart to rest; to be light, here and now. Casting spells and prayers with voice & guitar, their music hints at echoes of country, folk, pop, and Afro-futuristic influences. Thank you for being here. Happy Pride!

We are less than 1 week away from Gender Envy PRIDE at Illinois Art Station! This time next Saturday, June 15 from 4:00-8:00pm, folks from all over Central Illinois will gather to soak up the sounds of 9 musical acts across 2 stages, explore the offerings of 5 vendors plus 1 merch table, engage with offerings and activities of 6 community partners, and view the works of 2 visual artists all for $10 ($5 for students and kiddos).

We are ready to be loud and proud AND quiet and confident as we celebrate PRIDE and the Intersections / Interconnections that add color and vibrancy to this rainbow of humanity 💛💜💙

we are so excited for the killer lineup of artists we have for PRIDE at Illinois Art Station & this band has us super hyped!!!🎸🎸✨️✨️

these three are truly a musical force. here's a little more about them:

Parttime Bisexuals is a Hard Rock / Indie Band that was formed in Bloomington normal during the Winter of 2023. Rob the Band leader brought together Caleb, Brendan, and Sam into this group. The groups message is to show regardless on who you are, what community you represent and or what you stand for to be yourself and have fun and enjoy music :)

Central Illinois Friends was founded by a local group of individuals who were concerned about the response to the AIDS epidemic both nationally and locally. These individuals, who were made up of strangers both positive and affected by HIV, quickly became friends and officially became a not for profit in 1990 known as Central Illinois Friends of PWA Inc. Through the years Friends has adapted and grown to be the support, resource center, advocates, and community for people living with and who have been affected by HIV in the 16 counties of Central Illinois. Friends has also evolved into a public health organization offering free services such as comprehensive sexual education, linking individuals to the proper care, and providing HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing anywhere in Central Illinois. Today, while providing these free essential services, we serve as the safe space for all people living with and affected by HIV"

Im Foilsick is a Champaign Illinois alternative rock project from Laine Samuel and friends. With influence from the world of blues and psychedelic and hard rock, pop and dark wave, the indie alternative scene, and pure Midwest emo for a strange fusion of genres that is sure to take you through a whirlwind of emotions.
