Boogie Down Soundsystem
Boogie Down Soundsystem is a 1400 watt single stack mini-soundsystem made entirely from reclaimed / upcycled vintage speaker cabinets, hand assembled / renovated by former Ninja Tune / Skint / Tru Thoughts recording artist and international club DJ Treva Whateva.
After DJing across the board of Black music for many years, the musical selection is testament to his enduring love of classic funk, soul, reggae and a little old school rap. Whilst the knowledge is deep, the selections spun are straight up dancefloor pleasers - trainspotters look elsewhere - party people read on!
After many years of playing the latest / obscurest cuts and nearly killing himself keeping up with the latest trends Trev emerged from a self-imposed musical hiatus focussed on collating a playlist of quality, accessible jams - tunes you know and love - or will love once you've heard them through the sound! Cheeky versions, dubs and original samples also feature heavily, as does a well-stocked bank of sound effects for that proper soundclash vibe!
