Our Story
Launched in 2014 the WFM team consists of Julian & Shannon D'Souza a husband and wife duo that have travelled extensively around the world following their two passions culture and food. Julian has over 20 years of hospitality and events experience with his greatest passions in life being food, culture and football. His varied experience in the food industry, business acumen and street smarts see him effectively running WFM as he understands food, people, personalities and venues. Shannon is the 'ideas' person and the creative partner in the equation. Shannon's background in design and creative arts enables her to innovate, conceptualise, design and coordinate events and festivals within WFM. The WFM team may differ in personalities and tastes but good food and wine enjoyed with good company and laughter is one of the important things we have in common. Being a small business ourselves we always support other local and small businesses.
We have extensive operational & management knowledge with a keen focus on business networking, sales & marketing. We have a lot of experience running events from concept planning right through to reporting stages. We were involved with major events 20+ years back and after focusing on our hospitality & interior design careers respectively for a few years, we have now organized and supported a number of events with The World Food Markets over the past 5 years including a few with Brisbane City Council & Logan City Council.
