It was an absolute joy to cook for Sophie and Jake on their wedding day – a beautiful celebration filled with love, laughter, and some truly happy guests. We were thrilled with the wonderful feedback on the quality and standard of the food.

This one was also a little extra special for me, as I had a surprise cameo appearance from my son, .barret – dusting off his apron and lending a hand, just like old times. A proud moment, for sure.

is a truly stunning venue, and I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to cook there many more times in the future.

This is amazing news and a great histrionic site where British fine dining started by 2 legends of gastronomy in the late 60’s which had a profound affect on the British food scene. Matt Abe will make this another multi starred restaurant. So happy this site is being used by an utterly brilliant chef ❤️❤️

Back on the private dining saddle last night for Neil’s 60th birthday. Scallops with onion elements, picanha and jenga chips & banoffee cheesecake with banana fritters. It all went down well. Now it’s back to the for another busy week before the next run of private dinners coming up.

Juggling both is hard, however I’m having the best time supporting the amazing family that own the pub.

Duchy Chef was founded in 2017 as a result of one chef’s passion to showcase local produce and create exciting dishes outside of the restaurant environment, making finer dining accessible to all.

With formidable talent, an all-encompassing passion for all-things food and a love for seasonal, local produce, Duchy Chef’s founder Craig Barrett is classically trained and has a background in working for some of London’s finest establishments.

By building long-lasting relationships with award winning local suppliers and working with a range of Cornish venues to creating exciting pop-up events around the region, Duchy Chef has fast become one of Cornwall’s leading private chef and exclusive events catering companies.

“For as long as I can remember, food and amazing produce have been the focus of my day. Whether it was cooking with my dad (Also a chef) or picking the spoils from my grandfather’s greenhouse, food always came first! When we moved to Cornwall, something about the sea air and cooking fish from the day boats inspired my cooking renaissance. It gave me a real appreciation of our stunning landscape, from which we get so much fabulous produce. A few years later, Duchy Chef was born and I’m thrilled to be sharing the best our county has to offer with you and your guests.” Craig Barrett, founder and head chef at Duchy Chef
