Why Are We here?
Picture this: a girl at a local gig, surrounded by boys, watching boys on stage and seeing the stage being managed by boys. She is in a man's world. But why?
This was a recurring situation in every gig we went to, and we wanted it to change.
GRRLS DO THAT TOO is a group that we have set up to support an encourage womxn+ of all ages in the Leeds music scene; whether they are on-stage performing, behind the desk recording and mixing or setting up events. We want to create a community where you feel confident to express yourself and show off your creativity.
Everyone should recognise that the grrls can do the exact same as boys, that we are just as powerful.
