This month we are eating out the freezer. Saving money & reducing meat purchases...so time to get creative. Started well though as Sophie had made mushroom Wellington previously that we forgot to finish at xmas! Today we added gravy based on a frozen pork stock that was saved from ages ago too and used up some root veg. Tasty stuff with a hint of animal fat but no actual meat. Can you get creative with your freezer. Dare ya 😋

Happy Sunday and a belated Happy New Year to you all! Our heads and kitchens stir back into action after the festive break, and we shall also be setting a supper club date very soon for you so watch this space. Anyone who might be interested in coming to one of our intimate dining experiences please just get in touch for a chat.

In the meantime the Eats Coast experiments start again with a new ferment...and also believe it or not bring you colour of summer 24 with the unripe tomatoes and chilli we grew in the greenhouse. Yes...they have now ripened. Well some have anyway! Hopefully some new flavors for you to try when we see you next The Thirsty Crow Taproom

Happy holidays to all of y’all. We spent Boxing Day morning traipsing up a hill. I (Sophie) was practically drowning in meat sweats. Honestly - meaty liquid was falling off my entire body and I was wiping a thick sauce from my brow. The thought did cross my mind to make a sort of human gravy to serve at the next supper club, but I decided against it. Not least because ‘human gravy’ could be violently misinterpreted. I managed to regain a sort of normal temperature by stripping off almost completely just moments before this shot was taken. The human sauce thankfully subsided.

What have you been doing over the festive period?

Huge thank you to everyone who came last night. It was such a lovely way to end the year's supper clubs. We woke up this morning full of gratitude that we've had such a warm welcome into this wonderfully kind-hearted community.💙 love you all and best wishes for the year ahead ###

p.s. we once again didn't take any pictures 🤦‍♀️so we'll do some gathering of other peoples' and hopefully post a bit later
