Weekend Warrior Our goal is to create an immersive world, in a cinematic fantasy universe, to give you an unparalleled experience at the event.

We are treating this event like a film and we see your garb and gear as wardrobe for your character, specific to this world and time period. With these efforts and an attention to detail we will work to suspend your disbelief, opening up your imagination, and allowing you to become the hero, or villain you've always dreamed of being.

“He knows if you’ve been good or bad so be good for goodness sake.” - A song about Santa Cl- er actually The Archdeacon of Luminos.

We hope you enjoy the festivities of the day, and that in the feasting and gathering you’re reminded of your WW community and friends in Adrasil. May the Year of Light 1124 close well for you, whatever it held, and may your Year of Light 1125 be filled with joy.

Autumn, The Year of Light 1124.

The Tenth Month.

There are few navigable paths through the dense woods of the Wicca Wold, and historically there is only one on which large armies can battle. The hay barn and wayside tavern that stand near this path used to be seldom used, but now are on the frontier of war…

The Kingsmen have faced bitter strife in their realm since the death of King Osric eight years ago, but they rejoice in the third year of the reign of their new king Bryce, and plan to end the war of rebellion with a decisive attack against Throi while the Hearth-Guard are far away in their own lands…

The Order has found itself at odds with the Kingsmen and temporarily allied with Throi, but Killian has not pushed for his claim to the throne of Olaran, rather continuing his work to bring justice to all lands with the help of the Order of Luminos…

The Healers Guild has set up camp again at The Hay Barn, and have been joined by scholars from Oxfrith Academy, who wish to use this meeting of many realms to further their knowledge…

With Commodore Hvitserk gone on a secret mission to the cold northern lands known as the “Barrens,” Captain Andar Brimwulf has been named Commodore of the Sea Lord fleet, and has assembled the fighters of Throi in preparation to defend their lands once more…

While Commander Brandis has been recalled to the Ranger Conclave to address the growing tension among the members of the Olar alliance, he has raised Captain Tiergan O’Dale to the rank of Commander and sent him to lead the Ranger forces in the Wicca Wold…

The Themisian forces have begun a lucrative trade with their new Throian allies, and already their trade ships ply the waters between the two realms. Now they seek to aid their Throian allies, and to broker new deals with the other powers of the land…

The Wold Folk are once again caught up in the fighting between the realms. With their new alliance with the Kingsmen, forged through the marriage of their Chief Rollo with the Reeve of the Kingsmen, they stand ready to fight, though uncertain of what lies in store for the future of their tribes…

The event is less than three weeks away! We wanted to take a moment to remind you that, while all outdoor activities come with inherent risks, there is a lot you can do to ensure you have a safe and healthy weekend at our event!
- Don’t forget to bring and take your normal medication! It’s an exciting weekend, so it’s easy to forget to take your medication. Set a reminder, or have a friend check in to make sure you’re on top of your medication!
- Do eat and drink plenty of nourishing things! It is easy to forget to eat and drink on Friday when you are setting up, because of all of the excitement - but your body will thank you on Saturday when you took care of it on Friday.
- Don’t put electrolytes in copper water bottles! The minerals will react with the copper lining and could make you sick. The mugs you are issued have copper on the outside, but not the inside for this very reason.
- Assume there will be rain! Autumn in SC is a wet season, so come prepared! Extra towels, waterproof ground tarps for tents, and plenty of extra dry boot socks will help you deal comfortably with wet weather.

Most players aren’t used to running around the woods all day in armor, so keep in mind that you’ll need to take care of your body, check in on it, and take a breather if you need to. While we don’t mind you going down epically in a fight, we don’t want you to actually get hurt!

Veterans - what other health and safety tips do you have? Let us know below!

We’re one month away from early checkin (for which tickets are still available!) so let us introduce ourselves to you!

Weekend Warrior 2024: Meet the Staff!

Weekend Warrior is made possible by the tireless efforts of volunteer NPCs and players, but these three folks are the masterminds behind the event, so let’s introduce them!

(From left to right):

is the CEO and founder of and .shop , and the driving force behind all of our events! His vision is what has brought us to the present moment, and we owe a lot to him! Whether he’s outlining plans for new objectives, or plotting another event, Zan is the visionary that makes the big ideas come to life. He’s also the one who tells Meg to “breathe” and “it’s going to work out” at least once a quarter.

(Amy Robinson) is the COO of Fell and Fair, and the Business Director (read: brains and math skills) of Weekend Warrior Experience! She’s the one who deals with vendors, caterers, insurance and all the businessy stuff that’s no fun, but an absolutely vital part of making an event happen. She’s also our Gamerunner, and makes sure that events, objectives, and plot runs steadily at the event!

(Meg Sanders) is the Executive Director of Weekend Warrior. She’s the one in the center of the web of people and plot! She is the volunteer and player liaison, and organizes the factions to make sure the event is cohesive, and everyone is taken care of. She also tracks the story and lore and does what she can (bless her heart) to make sure the event and story makes sense across the years.

Also, here’s a special shoutout to of who makes sure Meg’s emails look professional (and that all the links work!). He also is on standby to help her figure out how to make a .pdf, just in case she forgets again.

While we’re always hoping to grow and improve, we’ve come a long way since 2017! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to this event - you make our work worthwhile! ❤️ ⚔️

What do I do if I want to go to both and ?

With two major events occurring within the World of Adrasil this year, this is one of our most frequently asked questions!

So, how can you do this with the difference in factions at each event?

1. Play as your same character but in a different faction. This option makes sense if your faction is already allied with your new faction and not fighting a former ally (i.e., A Hearth-Guard player could join the Order of Luminos, which is neutral to the Hearth-Guard, or the Sea Lords or Themisians, which are allied to the Hearth-Guard). If you choose this option, keep in mind that you are officially becoming a part of that faction for the duration of the event. That means no sabotaging, spying, etc. This is part of what we call “the spirit of the game” - you can easily follow the rules for the event and still ruin your or others’ experiences by undermining the spirit of fair play and immersion that we have striven so hard to put in place. For example, if you are a Hearth-Guard officer, you can join the Themisians but would need to BE a Themisian for that event - your rank would not carry over, and you would have to make sure you follow all faction aesthetic rules.

2. Create a New Character: Maybe you and your friends are all Hearth-Guard, but you want to be Rangers for the main event. Do it! But keep in mind that having a whole bevy of Hearth-Guard fighting their allies (Sea Lords and Themisians) may complicate diplomacy for your faction, so maybe it would be easier to join the faction as new characters. Plus, this allows you to explore Adrasil from a different perspective fully. How fun is that?

We love the chance to expand our world, but we want to preserve the immersion and sense of continuity in our game. We, as game-runners, can set the stage for this to occur, but we require you, as the players, to bring your sense of community spirit and fair play to the game to make it a success.

We cannot wait to see you expand your characters as we expand our game.

While the emphasis can often be on the fighting side of Weekend Warrior, we also have many opportunities for you to affect the story in smaller ways through quests. Generally, the best time to work on quests is in the evenings after the fighting has died down, and folks are more willing to mingle in neutral zones like The Hay Barn or Marketplace.

We know questing can be a bit intimidating if you’ve never done it before, which is why we have a designated questmaster for each of the prominent factions! You can also always check in with your faction leadership: more than likely, they will have plenty for you to do. Any faction or player can go to The Alchemist (the game questmaster) to receive a quest… though who knows where it will lead?

Whether simple information gathering or serving as an envoy, you never know when a simple task might turn into a huge plot point!

Feeling a bit intimidated? Check out these questing tips from our veteran players:

- If it is your first time, find a more experienced buddy and tag along for a bit!
- Talk to everyone - you never know who might have a lead on a quest.
- Learn the faces of the NPCs! Most of them are on the website.
- Go with a buddy - even if they are new, too. Two heads are better than one!
- Don’t be afraid to ask questions - even across factions.
- If you’re stuck, go to one of the veteran players or officers in your faction - they can be helpful resources when your faction leader is busy.

Sometimes quests lead to story-altering scenarios, and sometimes they lead to you throwing a LARP-grade lemon at an NPC. Regardless, you’ll never know until you step out of your comfort zone and begin to quest!

No combatant is immune to injury on the battlefield, be they footsoldier or royal, and swift healing could mean the difference
in an army’s victory or defeat.

A Healer is a non-combatant member of their chosen faction who cannot be targeted during fights in-game, and cannot be killed or wounded. The goal of a Healer is to revive the fallen combatant players of their faction so that they can return to battle. If a combatant should strike a healer, that player will suffer an instant death.

A Medic, however, is a combatant player that can be wounded and is able to apply bandages to wounded combatants but cannot use timers to fully heal a wounded player and is not a member of the Healers guild.

Healers exist within the Sea Lord, Themisian, Kingsmen, Ranger, and Wold Folk factions. The Order of Luminos do not have their own healers, but will have medics and can be healed by healers of whichever faction they are currently aligned with. The Scholars of Oxfrith will function similarly to medics, with bandages for healing limbs, but no timers. The Scholars of Oxfrith may heal players of any faction.

Healer Attire

All healers are identified by their natural colored hood or headwrap. The healers of Oxfrith Academy (neutral faction) are identified by their burnt orange sashes and natural hoods if they are players, or their charcoal robes with purple interior lining if they are NPCs.

Beginning in 2023, the Healer’s Guild introduced Guild Specialties. These specific Guild Specialties are the Guild-recognized specialties that can be earned through side quests over the weekend. The guild specialties are meant to help you further develop your character and create a stronger cohesive community of healers on and off the battlefield. The specialties also come with perks that will help your faction! Make sure you speak with the Healers Guild Leaders at the Academy of Oxfrith tents to learn how you can gain your specialty!

With just two and a half months to go before the event, some of you may have realized that you cannot attend for various reasons (evil boss, your dog ate your kit, your great-aunt-Mildred is getting married for the fourth time and chose the weekend of Weekend Warrior for her ceremony out of spite, etc.).
