What was 3 kilometres high, over 500 kilometres wide, and had everyone in Melbourne staring anxiously up at the skies? Were you there to see it?

8 February marks the anniversary of the giant red-brown dust storm that in 1983 smothered Melbourne along with most of the state. Loose topsoil in the Mallee region, dried out by the worst drought in Australian history at the time, was scooped up by a strong wind that pushed it south.

In the space of just 30 minutes, Melbourne went from scorching in a record breaking 43.2 degree heat to a city plunged into darkness and battered by wind speeds that in some areas reached up to 140 km/h, with visibility down to just 100 metres.

The Start of 2018 has been a time of change for Dreamer Amusements, with the departure of Rachael from the organisation, now under the management of Brian & Olivia, pretty much everything will remain the same, for now, with new ideas some new exciting things may develop in time.. We look forward to meeting and hopefully exceeding your expectations in the times ahead!
