Not so many years ago I began fooling around with an old Weber kettle grill given to me by my Father. After many fails and continued practice, I was amazed at the level of authentic BBQ I could produce on simple equipment. I fell in love with the processes and the heritage of the equipment. BBQ is a very diverse community and I have and continue to treasure all of the friends I have made along the way. So Driveway BBQ was born out of a fear of oversharing my passion on my traditional page. The purpose of the page will be widespread. A simple place to watch AJ and I enjoy our hobby, a place to catch our latest how to video, pick up a recipe or share what you’ve created on your home pit. We will also be reviewing new BBQ gadgets and doing some small event catering.
So I have been asked the following questions often...
What's with the name? well simply most “grilling”(we will talk about the difference between BBQ and grilling later) is done in the backyard well I felt all alone back there so I started barbecuing in the driveway, pretty quickly if friends and neighbors saw me in the drive they stopped over to “See what was cookin” and stayed for a cold one and a conversation.
This brings me to the brew. I found out early in my research that a cold drink and the BBQ pit go hand in hand and it doesn't stop at that. It is considered by most in the BBQ community bad luck to not consume a “Brew” at the onset(and throughout) of your cook. Well it just so happens I enjoy beer and beer of many varieties so now and again I will share my latest find with you.(and please share yours)
