Sometimes our job is bittersweet, we captured this wonderful family session with Bella and her dog mom and dad a couple weeks before she crossed the rainbow bridge. She was so loved! You can see the love between this family for Bella. Rest in peace sweet Bella!

Catching up on our photography journey and being a part of special days like weddings and this was one we enjoyed with repeat clients. Such a beautiful ceremony in Albuquerque and then we all traveled to Socorro to a beautiful reception at a local brewery.

Here are the rest of the photos we did for a quinceanera, a dream shoot, so much fun but I distinctly remember it was super hot that day but our client did an excellent job and continued to pose for each setting. I am not sure if we will continue with quinceneras but this was wonderful to be a part of and we are proud of this series!

At CYM Photography, we stand in solidarity and celebration with all our BIPOC folks and want to celebrate with our relatives this Juneteenth while also reminding folks that Black Lives Still Matter and there are still many social injustices affecting the population.

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free. This day came to be known as , now officially a federal holiday. Celebrate with : nmaach.si.edu/Juneteenth

I haven't yet caught up on posting however this one came at the perfect time, the fundraiser we are working on is for this amazing human, our Kiki. She is full of stories and questions as a tiny activist and future mental health expert, just like her mom's, we all fight for the betterment of the populations we serve and she will be no different, except she's starting way earlier. I had the honor of taking her promotion photos. We are still in need of funds so if you are wanting photos, book now, the sessions are highly valuable and it's a great deal! 😁
PS the last portrait of her is my favorite and absolutely shows her personality 😂😆

Garden update 🌼🌻🪻🌸🌹🌺 I was so happy to see some of these flowers bloom. I grew most of these from seed since February so seeing them and smelling their beautiful fragrance was amazing 😍

Next on our list is our wonderful niece Carrie who has the best smile and laugh! She was so easy going and we had an excellent time shooting in northern New Mexico. Congratulations to all seniors who graduated from Middle College High School Class of 2024!

More of graduation season sessions as we wind down for the month of May and continue the countdown to graduation ceremonies. I had the honor of taking my own nephew's senior portraits and it was super fun to get this kiddo to smile. We brought all our tricks and managed a few. Congratulations to all the Thoreau High School 2024 graduates!

Graduation season is coming to an end and we were busy once again with some awesome seniors. It is always an honor to capture these moments but this in particular was my older sister's best friend's son, I remember seeing this little guy when he was just a baby and now he's graduating high school! Congrats to our Miyamura High School graduates!

Wellness Conference 2024, brought to you by Elite Events by Janet Jones. This was a wonderful event in Las Cruces, NM that centered on wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. There were mediations, yoga, healers, and workshops centered on medicinal herbs, self-care, and a keynote speaker that talked about how to come back from set backs. I was so happy to be a photographer but found the event to be much needed and healing. These are some captured moments from the events.

We want to congratulate our graduates of New Mexico State University and all of the Masters and doctoral students who have had their pinning ceremony and for the students graduating tomorrow. We were especially excited and honored to take this graduate's photo as we had met her a long time ago and now she has her master's degree and we are very proud of all the Indigenous scholars and Navajo babies who are walking across that stage. Ahéhéé!! And good job!!!

Happiest of birthdays to the M in CYM Photography and our second shooter, our second eyes for editing, our driver, our supply runner, and light bringer that lights up all your lovely faces during a shoot. He's a huge reason why our sessions go well, as long as I know he's there, we make a good team, and get the shot. Send him a birthday 🎈🎂🎁 wish!
And yes this was a mock headshot session and he wanted our pumpkin ceramic in this shot 😂

We had the honor of taking photos of the powerful Monica when we were in ABQ a few weeks ago. When I say power, I mean it, she is a wonderful soul who does powerlifting and inspires and motivates others to have an active lifestyle through her stories and videos! Today we renewed our vows to one another in Salem, MA and man I wish we were out there again! Someday. Happy anniversary to my love, today we celebrate in recovery, healing, and rest, just like we said we would in our vows.

These minis were so fun to do and we were able to experiment with our outdoor studio and just have fun with little to no pressure and I believe the relaxed environment helped our clients as well as us create these beautiful images. Maternity photos for this mama who gave birth two days later after this windy day session. The wind and dust actually made for a wonderful combo of wind in her hair and a light and airy brown tone background. It all worked so well! Love it and so happy to have repeat clients who share milestones.
