We’re calling on all our crew members to join our “Behind the Burlap” team for this year’s Faire on September 28-29, 2024, at Folsom Lions Park.

Opportunities:

• Parking Lot Attendees: Help guide our guests to their parking spots.
• Ticket Scanners: We need a battalion of peeps to beat the scalpers and help patrons through the gate quickly and effectively.
• Ticket Scanners: Quickly and efficiently move patrons through the gates.
• Gate Sitters: Secure the site.
• Rovers: Be our eyes and ears, assisting wherever needed.
• Build Crew (Thursday & Friday): Help set up the magical world of the Faire.
• Tear Down Crew (Monday): Assist in taking down and cleaning up post-event.
• Box Office Workers: Manage guest ticket lines and inquiries.
• ETC…!

We’d love to have you back on the team! If you’re ready to join us this year, just send an email to [email protected] with your availability and any food allergies you have. We’re especially in need of experienced hands for setup and teardown and ticket scanners.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or returning for more fun, your contribution is vital to making this event a spectacular success. We can’t wait to share this incredible experience with you again!

Dear Valued Participants,

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to each of you for being a vital part of this year’s Valhalla Renaissance Faire. Your involvement—whether as a performer, vendor, or volunteer—was instrumental in making this event a memorable experience for everyone who attended.

As we embarked on this new adventure at a different venue, we encountered a few unexpected challenges. Your unwavering patience, adaptability, and dedication were truly remarkable. Each of you contributed to overcoming these obstacles and ensured the faire’s success despite the hurdles we faced.

Your support did not go unnoticed. From the engaging performances to the wonderful array of goods and foods, your hard work and creativity were evident in every corner of the event. It is your enthusiasm and commitment that help us create such a magical experience for our attendees.
We are already in the process of addressing the issues we encountered and are excited about the improvements we can make. If all goes well, an event cell tower will be erected to solve wifi issues, the expanded site will help with the crowds and accommodate your guild / vendor spaces and hopefully help with the lines.

With this experience behind us, we’re thrilled to announce that the Valhalla Renaissance Faire will be expanding to a two-weekend event in 2025, scheduled for August 16-17 and August 23-24. We hope to build on this year’s success and offer an even more enchanting experience next year.
In the meantime, we are in the midst of approvals for the Folsom Renaissance Faire and apologize for any delays. The site for the Folsom Faire has changed once again, which necessitates some adjustments on our part. All food vendors will now be relocated to the parking lot, while the park will accommodate guilds and other vendors. Due to these changes, we will be closely monitoring the size of each encampment and vendor space, and unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate large structures. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these new challenges and work towards a successful show.

Once again, thank you for your invaluable contributions. We look forward to collaborating with you to make next year’s faire even more spectacular.

Yes, there will be jousting! The Imperial Knights will dazzle audiences with their skillful horsemanship, impressive weaponry, and dramatic battles in the arena.

Hello, my dears,
I'm sure some of you have been wondering about the silence...
Setting up new events can indeed be tricky. With Valhalla being a longstanding tradition, transitioning to a new site, new county, and new management feels like starting afresh. We've taken lessons from past experiences and are focused on providing you with updates as they come.
Tahoe is progressing beautifully. The city has the necessary paperwork, and both the city and chambers of commerce are buzzing with excitement about the upcoming show. Are there hiccups? Not at the moment... so let's keep our fingers crossed.
We're looking forward to inviting everyone to a delightful picnic on the new site in July. It will be a great opportunity to meet the wonderful folks opening their campground to us, where we'll work our magic. I'm hoping this picnic can coincide with a fantastic in-garb walkabout in downtown South Lake Tahoe, drawing in patrons for the upcoming show.
Now, about Folsom... I've just posted the dates for the show. Fortunately, the city is still delighted to host us (Thank Goodness!). However, we're in the process of proposing changes as the city has expressed concerns about the traffic from our "not-so-small-anymore event." Please bear with us as we diligently plan, chart, and finalize contracts to ensure this incredible show continues. Renregister will be accepting Folsom applications soon.

To our Stage Acts: Your captivating performances transported our attendees to a different time and place, bringing the spirit of the Renaissance to life. On behalf of Ren Prod and the Guild of St. George, we would like to personally thank you for your support in bringing the 30th Folsom Renaissance Faire to life and helping it become a grand success. This event could not have been possible without your dedication and hard work, your shows, your booths, your stage and your guild acts.

We especially want to give a hand to our volunteers who days before the show prepped and built out our faire site so that we could bring the Faire to fruition. They continued to work tirelessly during the weekend, and then longer as the group stayed in the park on Monday to finish putting the event back into the box before handing the park keys back to the city. Your dedication, time, relentless determination to the success of the show is appreciated beyond just words. Much love to each and everyone one of you.

If you were there, you know that we have experienced an unprecedented influx of attendance this year. With the new crowds we have also experienced some new challenges whice we will be tackling as we review our processes and logistics for '23. To that end we are already brainstorming a few solutions to help alleviate the growing pains in the future. But there are times when sometimes some fresh insight might have a new perpective and ideas. If you have any, we would love to hear your ideas, should you’d like to add them to the mix. A few ground things to note: no, we will not be moving to two weekends. No, we won't be changing parks. No, we won't be changing dates. However other than that, if you have some ideas, let us know.

Again, we really appreciate your efforts, your involvement, your dedication and time. We hope you will see you both at Folsom again in 2023, as well as the myriad other Faires to be found around Northern California! Here’s to successful future shows! (Did we mention planning for the return of Valhalla for '23 as well?)

Hello peeps,

I hope everyone is enjoying Labor Day / Weekend! With great pleasure, I'd love to let you know that April Isme will be running the volunteer crew this year and we couldn't be any happier! Thanks to her we have a full conservation crew coming to the event as well as girls scouts too.

We hope to welcome you too to the crew this year. April will be contacting you shortly to see if you're interested in joining our team "behind the burlap." This year's show will make 30th anniversary of the Folsom Renaissance Faire, Sept 24-25, and the event will be that much better with you in our ranks.

Please let us know if you will be joining us at this year's show. Set up will start Sept 22-23 and tear down the evening of the 25th with final walk-through on the 26th.

Greetings and salutations dear Ren Prod friends and family. Every year with you is the best one yet and so, here’s to making more cherished memories in 2022 Faire Season!

Covid continues to put a wrench in our plans. With that, we are sad to announce we will not be returning this year to South Lake Tahoe. We do hope to come back to San Jose and Folsom, but both events will depend on the safety of the populace and guidance from the State and CDC mandates. Fingers crossed! Wear those masks!

At this time, we’re hoping for the return of San Jose Renaissance Faire August 6-7th, 2022 and Folsom Renaissance Faire September 24-25th, 2022.

Folsom Renn Faire is coming up, and we're looking to our faithful and hard working volunteers to help make this first post pandemic lock down show a memorable one. So, if you'd like to come aboard this year please let us know.
