Dear Friends,

We’re calling on all our crew members to join our “Behind the Burlap” team for this year’s Faire on September 28-29, 2024, at Folsom Lions Park.

Opportunities:

• Parking Lot Attendees: Help guide our guests to their parking spots.
• Ticket Scanners: We need a battalion of peeps to beat the scalpers and help patrons through the gate quickly and effectively.
• Ticket Scanners: Quickly and efficiently move patrons through the gates.
• Gate Sitters: Secure the site.
• Rovers: Be our eyes and ears, assisting wherever needed.
• Build Crew (Thursday & Friday): Help set up the magical world of the Faire.
• Tear Down Crew (Monday): Assist in taking down and cleaning up post-event.
• Box Office Workers: Manage guest ticket lines and inquiries.
• ETC…!

We’d love to have you back on the team! If you’re ready to join us this year, just send an email to [email protected] with your availability and any food allergies you have. We’re especially in need of experienced hands for setup and teardown and ticket scanners.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or returning for more fun, your contribution is vital to making this event a spectacular success. We can’t wait to share this incredible experience with you again!

Dear Valued Participants,

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to each of you for being a vital part of this year’s Valhalla Renaissance Faire. Your involvement—whether as a performer, vendor, or volunteer—was instrumental in making this event a memorable experience for everyone who attended.

As we embarked on this new adventure at a different venue, we encountered a few unexpected challenges. Your unwavering patience, adaptability, and dedication were truly remarkable. Each of you contributed to overcoming these obstacles and ensured the faire’s success despite the hurdles we faced.

Your support did not go unnoticed. From the engaging performances to the wonderful array of goods and foods, your hard work and creativity were evident in every corner of the event. It is your enthusiasm and commitment that help us create such a magical experience for our attendees.
We are already in the process of addressing the issues we encountered and are excited about the improvements we can make. If all goes well, an event cell tower will be erected to solve wifi issues, the expanded site will help with the crowds and accommodate your guild / vendor spaces and hopefully help with the lines.

With this experience behind us, we’re thrilled to announce that the Valhalla Renaissance Faire will be expanding to a two-weekend event in 2025, scheduled for August 16-17 and August 23-24. We hope to build on this year’s success and offer an even more enchanting experience next year.
In the meantime, we are in the midst of approvals for the Folsom Renaissance Faire and apologize for any delays. The site for the Folsom Faire has changed once again, which necessitates some adjustments on our part. All food vendors will now be relocated to the parking lot, while the park will accommodate guilds and other vendors. Due to these changes, we will be closely monitoring the size of each encampment and vendor space, and unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate large structures. We appreciate your patience as we navigate these new challenges and work towards a successful show.

Once again, thank you for your invaluable contributions. We look forward to collaborating with you to make next year’s faire even more spectacular.

In case you missed it, Valhalla Renaissance Faire tickets are now on sale via Eventbrite! We will be closely monitoring ticket sales and may cap attendance based on demand to ensure everyone has a fantastic experience. Overcrowding detracts from the enjoyment of the event.

Yes, there will be jousting! The Imperial Knights will dazzle audiences with their skillful horsemanship, impressive weaponry, and dramatic battles in the arena.

If you're interested in being a vendor, please apply at www.renregister.com. We still have a few spots left. I’d love to expand our food court!

We are also seeking volunteers to join our crew. If you want to be part of the production team that brings this event to life, please email [email protected]. We need build crew, tear-down crew, and several other roles throughout the weekend. We work as a team and do it all.

Finally, we are still looking for performers! From musicians and dancers to children's shows and more, we’d love to have you join us.

Hello All,
My name is April and I am your Volunteer Coordinator for Valhalla and Folsom Faires this year. I am asking for those that are planning to volunteer this year, to please send an email to [email protected] confirming what faire or faires you are able to volunteer at, as well as your availability and any food allergies you have.

We are asking our volunteers to sit gates, help with the water booth, Need as many hands as possible setting up and tearing down. We are not asking any of our volunteers to do anything we have not done before. We will feed you!!

Hello, my dears,
I'm sure some of you have been wondering about the silence...
Setting up new events can indeed be tricky. With Valhalla being a longstanding tradition, transitioning to a new site, new county, and new management feels like starting afresh. We've taken lessons from past experiences and are focused on providing you with updates as they come.
Tahoe is progressing beautifully. The city has the necessary paperwork, and both the city and chambers of commerce are buzzing with excitement about the upcoming show. Are there hiccups? Not at the moment... so let's keep our fingers crossed.
We're looking forward to inviting everyone to a delightful picnic on the new site in July. It will be a great opportunity to meet the wonderful folks opening their campground to us, where we'll work our magic. I'm hoping this picnic can coincide with a fantastic in-garb walkabout in downtown South Lake Tahoe, drawing in patrons for the upcoming show.
Now, about Folsom... I've just posted the dates for the show. Fortunately, the city is still delighted to host us (Thank Goodness!). However, we're in the process of proposing changes as the city has expressed concerns about the traffic from our "not-so-small-anymore event." Please bear with us as we diligently plan, chart, and finalize contracts to ensure this incredible show continues. Renregister will be accepting Folsom applications soon.
