Such an honour to host novelist VARAIDZO at Granby Winter Garden yesterday to find out more about her story and her debut novel, ‘Manny And The Baby’.

We found out more about VARAIDZO’s journey, process and the industry as well as hearing about the characters in this beautiful story, the history of ‘UK Jazz’ (and its roots in Liverpool) and Black British identity beyond London and Windrush, which this masterpiece explores. Who wants to hear bits of the conversation?

This is a must-read for scousers. So much of the history in the book is based around research that VARAIDZO did at Central Library!

‘Manny And The Baby’ is available in all good book stores (including Dead Ink on Smithdown Road - Thanks for coming along with copies of the book). Keep an eye out for VARAIDZO, this is only the beginning…

Liverpool, this Sunday, at 6PM, we will be joined by acclaimed author VARAIDZO at Granby Winter Garden for an intimate conversation about her brand new novel, ‘Manny And The Baby’, a very special book about family, relationships, identity and place, jazz and what it means to be ‘Black British’.

Expect a one-off conversation between VARAIDZO and Ni Maxine and an opportunity to find out more about the book in a beautiful plant-filled setting, perfectly soundtracked with light refreshments available.

Our favourite local book shop ‘Dead Ink’ will be joining us with copies of this masterpiece available for you to purchase, which you might even be able to get signed, so join us this Sunday 19th May 2024 at Granby Winter Garden on Cairns Street from 6PM.
