Cleaning reveal and a quick update regarding my schedule! 🤍
I honestly had my doubts with this gown… these stains were SET (including the remnants of red wine stains on the back of the gown!) - But of course, I got obsessed and here we as clean as can be!
There is some irreversible friction damage to various parts of the hem from dancing the night away, but now that she is sparkling white no one would ever know it🥰
As for the update, I am gearing up to take my annual 6 week Fall break, so I will only be checking Instagram weekly at most, so if you need to reach me or have questions regarding cleaning and preservation, please reach out via email, head over to my website, or give me a call 🤍

Every small town has a festival and for us it’s the Strawberry Festival! Of course, my favorite part of the event (besides the world-record-breaking giant cheesecake they serve) is the Strawberry Princess Court! Every year there is a strawberry queen crowned, and we’ve been holding onto their gowns for the last hundred years to display up and down Main Street during the weeks leading up to the celebration! 👑
Which fashion history era is your favorite? Although anything 1930s and 40s is my favorite, I can’t get over how precious some of the 60s and 70s gowns on display are! 🍓
I have been wanting to upgrade my ironing table for years, but I had a hard time, finding one that checked all of the boxes! I found this desk with adjustable height and castors and knew it would make the perfect base! I used two layers of cotton batting, and one layer of duck cloth to make a slightly padded heat-friendly pressing surface. I’m really excited about how adjustable, mobile, and sturdy this will be for ironing and pressing enormous gowns! 💪
I plan to make some washable covers for it later in the year when I have some down time because, well, as with anything you use every single day, my ironing boards do take a beating!
What do you think? Does your ironing board? Need an upgrade? ✨
Want to make your dress feel even more you? One word: Customization 🤩
If you love certain elements of the gown you chose but wish it had a little more spice, don’t hesitate to ask about customizations such as adding sleeves, swapping out certain straps/trims, changing the level of “poof,” or making a new neckline! The possibilities are endless ✨
I love how these custom sleeves made @abbgraphy ‘s gown even more HER and how unique her final look turned out! 🤍
⬇️ 9 Bridal Seamstress & Dressmaker Red Flags you DON’T want to overlook: ⬇️
🚩 Negative Vibes: If you sense ANY negativity about your dress or BODY, it’s essential to prioritize a professional who uplifts and enhances your bridal experience and makes you feel like a goddess!
🚩 Dirty Workspace: A well-maintained sewing space is crucial. While a bit of lace/fabric chaos is valid, signs of dirt, pet hair, or strong odors may indicate an unsuitable environment for your gown.
🚩 Unclear Communication: A professional should provide detailed explanations if they claim your dress goals are impossible when budget, physics, and timeline align. The same goes for material sourcing.
🚩 Padding v.s. Tailoring: A true bridal specialist tailors princess seams to your unique body shape when needed. If a seamstress seems uncomfortable altering these seams despite a solid budget/timeline, and only offers to stuff with cups, consider seeking a second opinion.
🚩 Sketchy Pricing: Ensure *basic* alteration quotes align with industry averages ($550-800 for the PNW). Beware of excessively low or high quotes and inquire about line item pricing during the initial consultation if nothing has been said already.
🚩 No Contractual Agreement: A formal contract protects both parties. If you’re not asked to sign one, it raises concerns about the security of your transaction.
🚩 No Visual Portfolio: Look for before, during, and after photos online to gauge the quality of work and the seamstress’s transparency about their processes.
🚩 No Client Testimonials: Genuine Google reviews provide insights into the client experience. Testimonials are invaluable when assessing the quality of service.
🚩 Registered/Insured Business: Don’t be afraid to request proof of registration and insurance to ensure the legitimacy and safety of leaving your cherished garment in capable hands.

I’m so grateful for this job. 🤍
So many creatives have to save their inspiration for the weekend, for the next “free time,” for after 5PM, when they’re already worn out from the grind of a “normal” job. It’s a true privilege to be able to create freely from the time I wake up until the time I get to choose to call it quits, whether that’s 5PM or 3AM. I get to make a living doing the thing that came most naturally to the 6 year old version of me pinning scraps of fabric onto my doll at the kitchen table. 🤍
I clocked more hours in 2023 than any other year, but I can’t say that there was ever a time I wanted to be anywhere else. I get to choose this life, and that’s something I’ll never take for granted. 🤍
Thank you for supporting local artists. Thank you for investing in my passion and trusting my hands with your most sacred garments 🤍
Kenzie’s custom gown was my first of the season. I wasn’t under a tight deadline, and she pretty much gave me full power to create what I wanted to suit her vision. It felt more like play than work, and I’ll always savor these spring moments breathing life into the bolt of crepe and silk de chine that would become her wedding gown. 🤍
