Sat in a Field Music and Arts Festival Sat in a Field Music and Arts Festival | A non profit music and arts festival raising funds for our 4 chosen charities. So what now?

Since the creation of the festival we have been graced with the incredible fortune of two sell out events, and so far to date, thanks to the incredible generosity of those attending have raised a staggering £18000.00 for charity. 2013 saw £6000.00 going to Myloma Uk, Childrens Hospice (Wraxall) and The Nikita Jade fund. 2014 doubled this figure and a staggering £12000.00 collectively has been sent

to the three aforementioned charities with the addition of Somewhere House being added to our charity roster. Non of this would have been possible without the help of some incredible people and organisations who through their generosity of time and expertise saw fit to join our little family and push forward our belief that in life, some things are worthy of help and support. Special thanks need to given to: Burnham waste, Tubular Construction, the entire construction crew, bands, artist's, caterers, Dj's, lighting, sound crews, stage managers, venue providers, security, stewards, land providers and not least those of you who saw fit to help get behind the project by purchasing tickets. Our humble thanks and gratitude are extended to you all. On Friday 28th August 2015 we will once again open the gates to our little piece of heaven nestling at the foot of the mendip hills and welcome you all once again to join us in our very special celebration of philanthropic fervour. There are many things planned to enhance SIAF15 and some which will certainly raise an eyebrow or two! Both Marc and myself have already started the planning process and are sticking to our belief that growth needs to be gentle, measured and controlled to allow everyone attending the unique sense of freedom SIAF is all about. There will be much more for the children in 2015, some additions to the venue list and some darn right unusual things to look at. So for now the toys have been placed neatly back in their box and the site cleaned, ready in anticipation of the spectacle to be unleashed next August. Have a fantastic winter and may all your dreams become realities. Our love and thanks to you all. Mike, Marc and the SIAF Family.

Terry Hunt

On Monday 6th June 2022 (exactly a year ago today) we lost our brother. Terry Hunt was a stalwart supporter of dance music most of his adult life. He was a founder member and organiser of GBH events and later Inferno drum and bass events.
He was one of the main organisers of the last Pawlett Manor Reunion held in Bristol and one of the venue managers for ‘The Thunderdome’ at the Sat in a field festival near Cheddar.
He was also a Dj formerly known as skitz then skitzy and later still SK2. He performed at venues and festivals throughout the south west where he was based and the rest of the uk.
On Boxing Day 2021 Terry was admitted to hospital suffering from the very real affects of Covid 19. He fell into a coma and lay motionless for nearly 3 months. Friends sent him messages which were played to him whilst he lay there and eventually…… he opened his eyes. His lungs had collapsed, he was unable to talk properly due to a tracheotomy but steadily he regained strength and started to walk and become more mobile. The months past and procedure after procedure was applied and administered. We dared to believe and it looked like life would return to normal for Terry until out of the blue a routine procedure discovered the sad truth and his lungs couldn’t cope any more. We lost Terry that day. During his time in hospital Terry lost his home, his dog and his independence.
Terrys love of music was rivalled by none, but his greatest love of all was for his two girls. His children are well looked after by their mum and step father but nothing will replace the loss of their daddy.
We, the promoters, record label owners, production crews and artists of the Somerset (and beyond) dance music scene have come together to create a celebration of Terry’s life.
All the funds raised from this event will be put into a trust and given to his daughters when the reach maturity. Our hope is that this act will give the girls a strong start in adult life at a time when they would look to their parents for support. At a time when Terry would want to help. As Terry can’t be here to help, we as his friends are here to step in. We got you Terry. This one’s on us. Please come and join us in a celebration of one of the nicest chaps ever to be involved in our music scene.
Saturday 30th September 2023, 2pm - 2am. Venue soon to be announced.

Gathering of the clans - A fathers gift.
