George Hamilton IV, "The International Ambassador of Country Music". George Hamilton IV was Born & Raised in Winston-Salem, NC. While attending The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, he r
ecorded "A Rose & A Baby Ruth" for Chapel Hill's "Colonial Records". The "teen rock-a-billy ballad" climbed the charts, becoming a Solid Gold, Million-Selling HIT Record and landing George Hamilton IV on Nationwide "Rock 'n Roll" Tours with Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Brenda Lee, Little Richard, The Everly Brothers, Jerry Lee Lewis & More and his own Network TV Shows on CBS & ABC-TV. In 1959, George Hamilton IV made a move to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a career as a "Hillbilly Singer", soon after becoming a Member of Nashville's "Grand Ole Opry®"! The rest is Country Music History including George's "Folk-Country" Hit Recordings: "Abilene", "Truck Driving Man", "Break My Mind", "Early Morning Rain", "Urge For Going", "She's A Little Bit Country" & more. In the words of one of George's signature songs, "Country Music In My Soul", his preferred style of Country Music was: "People Music For The Young & The Old". This "Family-Style" Country Music served him well, leading to countless Concert Tours Around The World and his own Nationwide TV Shows in Canada and on BBC-TV in Great Britain. The "George Hamilton IV" TV Show was also broadcast in Ireland, South Africa and Hong Kong. In the 1970s, George became a partner & co-star on "The Arthur Smith Show" nationally syndicated TV program with fellow Carolina Music Legend, Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith. For all of his International Music Achievements, George Hamilton IV was named "The International Ambassador of Country Music" by BILLBOARD MAGAZINE in 1974.
